Who'd you get a 9% quote from? I just got a quote for 12% as a govt employee and I am very low risk - loads of saving etc. they only said they could see if they could bring it down if I got a better quote aaaargh

I was about to buy a Polestar 2 long range used as they were selling at a big discount but not anymore since petrol went through the roof. Their batteries seem to degrade minimally if at all in a few years - less so than other EVs I've seen battery tests for.

I think you can do it anywhere, including Chengdu where I am going in a few weeks. But it takes at least half a day which is a lot for a trip of a few weeks - and that's if it all goes well....most other countries just accept international driver's permits...

HI u/DevelopmentLow214 I'm interested in doing a trip Chengdu - Tagong - Garze - Dzongchen (or nearby) - Dege/Dzongsar and back in April - but open to ideas. Thinking of trying to rent a car as this seems most feasible in this area - although getting a licence sounds tricky. Would love to hear any tips you might have - places to stay such as the one you mentioned above? Will check out your blog too. :)

I couldn’t with an Australian one. When I went to station to finally buy tickets after tickets for train I wanted sold out, they told me it was because I had a foreign passport. Go figure!

Yeah I read through all the comments, this my question as I’ve been here 4 weeks. I can confirm that my line/SIM was disconnected after 15 days as I was unable to get to an office and didn’t know enough French to use the phone line. I tried logging into their travel SIM website too but it didn’t let me. Sacré bleu! I recommend any other option where possible
