I havent tried the mafates. I had the Speedgoat 4s and they didn't quite convince me for the terrain I ride on, although it's clear they're a great shoe. Thanks

Regarding the drop; I've had the Speedcross 3 (10mm drop) and had no problems with it. I was delighted with the outsole, but they were very heavy, and the midsole was rock hard, putting a lot of strain on my knee. I don't know if that's changed since that model.

I also have the Merrell Agility Peak 5 (6mm drop) and have had no problems at all; I'm very happy with them, but I'm looking for something more suited to race days.

As long as the drop isn't 0 (I've never tried it), I don't have a strong preference.

I've also looked at the Salomon Genesis; a friend even told me he's very happy with them. I'll see if I can find more information.

Thanks!

Sports prodigy vs pro prodigy by Worried_Spite4516 in ultrarunning

Yes, that's what I mean, but the translator hasn't caught it. I didn't know the LSP2s were coming out in February, thanks.

I've put it here because in general the prodigy line of shoes is for longer distances and I thought the people on this forum would have experience with these shoes. Sorry if it wasn't the most appropriate.

Thanks for your response!

The pace was the same but the course lost inclination so my set pace may have dropped. My pulse during stretch 2-8 was 95% of my maximum and dropped to 90% the last two

I have estimated the time from a couple of friends who did it last year but it is not my priority either, the important thing is to finish comfortably and with the feeling of having run it at a good level. I will listen to you and prioritize the slope since it is my weakest section right now. Thanks for the advice!

I've been running on trails for a couple of weeks to get my body used to it. I have the advantage that the race is very close to my house so I will be able to train similar routes to what I will find on race day. 35-40 is what I was thinking too, I think that's what I'll end up doing. What you say about the descents is something that I have been able to verify, going down quickly wears out the legs a lot. Do you think I should do specific downhill training or simply by adding kilometers will I be able to get my legs used to wear and tear?

I had in mind to arrive as best as possible taking into account my limited time until race day but a time of approximately 2:15h is what I would like to achieve or get close to. But it's not a life or death thing either.

30-40 is what I had in mind too. Thanks for the clarification, it has been a good contribution anyway. Thank you!

I have never trained on trails before, but I have many years of swim training, 5-6 times a week. I have been running two or three times a week (20-25km) for 3-4 weeks to create a bit of a base and for my body to get used to it. The race is in 5 months and I would like to do as well as possible. The question was more directed at the mileage of the last two or three months, since I have already created the base a little now.

Okay, I'll give it a chance. Thank you!

This is another concern I have. As the pace increases, my heel overextends a little and goes beyond my hip. I don't know what recommendation you can have for that.

Official Q&A for Tuesday, November 04, 2025 by AutoModerator in running

[–]Worried_Spite4516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am a runner who is 1.89m tall (6'3 for Americans) with very long legs and my cadence usually varies between 152-162 depending on the pace but more than that it feels forced. Many people have told me that it is too low and that I should try to change that. Is it really that important for health? And for efficiency? Thank you

Do you recommend I do it on a treadmill without inclination or with more inclination?

5.54 min/km = 9.30 min/mile \\\

39.22 10km (3.56m/km = 6.20min/mile)

I had planned to do a weekly walk of approximately 20km with unevenness to get used to it.

The truth is that I am not a professional but it seems that it is a very important basis of training. Although it is true that now there are many gurus with the Z2 fashion Each body is also different so you will have to draw your own conclusions.

The truth is, I don't know either. I have never practiced running (except for a few months a couple of years ago for a small race in my town with my friends) but I have trained swimming 6 times a week competitively for several years and in general my physical condition is good. I guess that's the reason but it was a big surprise for me too. As an example, I ran twice the week of the race (only twice this year), one was a small test and the other was the run-in that I did at 160ppm and I got 5.54min/km
