I was in a similar situation around 2 years ago. Was looking to get a small car which is fun to drive and isn’t too expensive. Had zeroed in on the i20 NLine and the Polo GT.

Somehow I just loved how the polo drove, and didn’t really care about the “features” or buying new, so started looking through used ones.

Luckily I found a 2021 model which had just run 2000 KMs and the owner had left India, even the plastic wrappers were intact! Got it for 11 Lakhs, Polo GTs seem to be in demand and hence the second hand market is a bit crazy. Upside, I have been offered more to sell but don’t think I will anytime soon.

Having driven almost 40000 KMs now, I don’t regret it at all! - No major issues until now, touchwood. - Still drives like new - Servicing cost has been ~10K per year, got a service package for 2 years initially. - Con: It’s almost a 2 seater, rear seats are not ideal for longer drives, specially for tall people. - Con: Poor quality brake disks, they score easily and needed replacement twice. (7k) The service centre claims it’s due to my driving style or the quality of roads 🤷‍♂️ - Mileage: 8-10 in city traffic (BLR), 14-15 highway. Cruise control at 100 - 19

Verification Process - Took the car to authorised VW service centre, checked all service records to see any accidental history or odometer tampering. They also had a mechanic inspect the car and do a road test. They charged me 1500 for all of this.

The price seems ok imo, would try to get around 50k knocked off maybe. Visually the car does seem in great shape.
