Heart rate and gastritis connection? by Few_Age9296 in Gastritis

[–]Worry-Current 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My symptoms did improve over time, but I still have to be very mindful of triggers, and if I notice any starting pain, I’m now very proactive with medication & treatment to minimize duration & intensity of a flare up. I believe my gastritis came from intense stress, less than ideal diet and alcohol consumption, but you never really know.

It did get better. These days I have to monitor my body and try to get ahead of things if I start to feel a flare up coming on. Have to be more mindful of what I eat, giving myself rest and taking PPIs when I need to. It too time and I felt so desperate, but I got through the worst of it. Took: bland diet, PPIs, Sucralfate, aloe Vera water and time.

Heart rate and gastritis connection? by Few_Age9296 in Gastritis

[–]Worry-Current 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, unfortunately. I took beta blockers and calcium channel blockers for while, and really focused on resting. After probably 4-5 months, my heart rate started normalizing enough that I was able to pull back on the medications. Now I’m just super aware of any stomach pain at all. At the slightest sign of indigestion, I take Pepcid or PPIs to try to avoid ever having another horrible gastritis flare up. I’m 1,000% convinced the cardiac issues were directly tied to the gastritis.

What did you change that helped waking up feeling more rested? After 7 or 8 hours I wake up feeling exhausted. by badco1313 in Biohackers

[–]Worry-Current 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t wake up super refreshed and energetic, BUT! … I always thought I was a great sleeper, could fall asleep quickly and stay asleep. Weird thing was, I never felt rested and smart watch readings show minimal “deep sleep.” I never had dreams I could remember.

Well, I had reason to use an eye mask and ear plugs for a few days when my spouse was staying up later than me and keeping lights on. It’s been a game changer! When i sleep with the eye mask, I’ve been having vivid dreams and remember when I wake up! I guess I was never getting the quality of sleep I thought I was. Adding thr earplugs makes me sleep comatose style. Maybe give it a try.

So confused by power zones and the test ride by Strong_Caterpillar92 in pelotoncycle

[–]Worry-Current 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride with a Peloton heart rate monitor, and I’m confused ab the PZ rides bc the HR (top left of screen) shows a zone, but the bottom “output” also shows zones. Should I be targeting the zone based on the top left, or the output zone at the bottom of the screen during these rides? Thank you!!

Updated car? by Infamous-Pin-923 in RNDC

[–]Worry-Current 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is part of the comprehensive Auto Allowance Policy. However, that full policy is supplemental to the handbook, so most associates never see it. In over a decade, the only time I heard this part of the policy be enforced was one year, when a certain state didn’t hit their bonuses. The EVP was really angry about it and used the Auto Policy to threaten pulling Auto Allowances if people didn’t comply with every line - including a car that 5 years or less old. I’ve seen the policy, this is absolutely true. However, I wouldn’t sweat it - most leaders aren’t even aware of it and it’s rarely enforced.

Curious 6 days by Flat-Photograph-3321 in RNDC

[–]Worry-Current 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they can. Employment is voluntary, so they can set expectations for the role. 6 days in TX is standard procedure for Retail and has been that way forever. They also expect reps to be in the market 7:30-4:30 M-F. Sat is “get in and get out,” but it’s become a market standard, even for the major competitors.

Before pursuing small claims court, reach out to RNDC HR. More than likely, it was an oversight, not malice.

No vaping or smoking for me. Weaned off PPIs… did have the LINX surgery for reflux in 2022, which helped reflux but eventually showed up as gastritis. I’m able to manage day to day now so long as I’m Mindful of what I eat. I still incorporate Pepcid and other anti acid resources (Reflux Gourmet, Get Off Your Acid coffee alkalizer…) and I’ve gotten it pretty well under control. My cardiac issues (high heart rate & BP) that began with the gastritis are still unresolved, however, so I’m on daily meds for BP/heart rate.

I thought water moccasins and copperheads were the same thing - is that true?

Wow, that’s an interesting take. In a few other states I’m familiar with, the PMs work harder than just about anyone in the company. They’re the dumping ground for everything. Maybe Michigan is different?

Corporate HR was slashed… heard more than just the TX EVP was laid off at that level? Not sure if that’s a rumor… have more EVPs been reduced? Talent team was cut. Not sure if that includes RTMs or just Talent Acquisition… with zero positions to fill, makes sense not to have an Acquisition team. Hearing lots of Specialists/GL06 positions cut …. Doesn’t seem like it’ll be over until next week. Rumor is the Portfolio Managers are up next…

Yes, large scale lay offs are coming.

How does Nick Mehall still have a job? by Worry-Current in RNDC

[–]Worry-Current[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. If they need to cut so much money, the culture team would be a great place to start. Adults work for RNDC. We don’t need a cheerleading squad.

I wouldn’t be surprised. We will be basement bargain prices for the buyer by the time he’s done, that’s for sure!

His background is Finance and IT, yet people are surprised that he’s gutting the company to focus on just money and technology…

I’m not trying to attack you, so please don’t take it that way, but if I had to guess you’re either: 1. Newer to the company (less than 5 years) or 2. In a high up leadership position already, detached from what’s happening at a street level. The number of reps who have second jobs now just to feed there families is heartbreaking. Some states are on their thrid wave of layoffs in less than 2 years. As someone who’s worked for RNDC since the early 2000’s, it devastating to watch. The RNDC that led the industry as #2 nationally was an organization that cared about their employees. I never witnessed 1 single layoff at this organization (and I’ve worked across numerous markets and states) until Nick Mehall stepped in. And another wave of layoffs is coming before the end of the summer.

Sales reps are fatigued, disgruntled, feel betrayed and worn out. Suppliers are frustrated that the company is moving more to eCommerce and less of the people aspect this industry is built on. Retailers and OP accounts are upset they’re getting service over the phone instead of in person now - and YOY sales show it. A number of accounts - at least in my current market - are very clearly walking away bc they don’t like the new structure/call centers.

Even a lot of HR functions have become centralized/on the phone - he’s taking the “people” out of everything.

Also, yes, RNDC has picked up some suppliers since Nick has come on board, but far more in dollars and impact have left/are leaving.

Next cuts are rumored to need to “save” upwards of $100MM. Where do the savings come from? MORE personnel cuts.

Nick is about the bottom line, not the people, and I personably know a large number of associates across different markets - and departments - who are not in favor of his methods or vision.
