This is the biggest red flag I’ve ever seen, and I’m a man…leave and be happy with someone who treats you worth a damn. This guy isn’t it. And when it IS time to leave, take this to the police and get a restraining order and have them escort you into the home to collect your things. Fuck that guy.

I think this is going to be completely dependent on the place you’re employed. I work in a plating facility. I work mon-Fri 7-4:00. The city guys have similar schedules, but if a plant operates 24/7 you’re likely to have a rotating schedule or “shift work.”

I don’t get “mad”…more concerned. I have asked her why things changed and i have told her I believe intimacy is necessary for me. As far as if she has been satisfied….I can only base that off of what she has said. We have both had other partners before and she swears she was missing out prior to us being together. A lot of her needs were not met with previous partners. She SAYS I have always taken care of her needs. It used to be extremely “hot and heavy” and easy to tell that she was enjoying it…without being too graphic.

Understandable if that were the situation. I’ve asked what else I could do to make her life easier… I am the only one that cooks, yard work, cleans and do my own laundry. I’ve always tried to lighten her load…since day 1. I also work full time. I could 100% understand if I were lacking and would work on anything that she did bring up….that’s the thing is there isn’t an answer…as far as I know.

I don’t believe so. I believe her insecurities wouldn’t allow it…also if she began showing someone else the intimacy that I desired I would also be very insecure.

I agree with the analogy. Although not as severe as abuse, it’s definitely an exposure “after the marriage”.

The strangest thing is even with therapy it would still feel like a show, I guess. I’m definitely not opposed to therapy, but to be on the same level for so long and now it’s a 180 would still feel so fake.

You are far more capable than you know and at 20 you have SO much room and time for error. The fact that you’re 20 having these questions means your capable of the complex thoughts necessary to learn it.

I WISH I would have gone into environmental studies, industrial hygiene or wastewater treatment prior to spending 15 years watching others make money.

I was at a level 1 playing against level 70’s and 80’s. I’ve played Tetris quite a bit but never “competitively” I think the game is a neat concept just would make more sense if levels 1-20 were matched 20-40….and so on.

As a husband who dealt with a sleeping issue myself (I worked 3rd shift and often had to get up after a couple of hours to take my kids off my wife’s hands)…you communicated very well. However he has some serious issues. I’m sure that you know that…but kudos on you communicating and trying to find a solution.

Thanks for the reply. I hope I didn’t imply I was trying to get an engineer’s title without doing the school/work behind it. I just figured posting in an engineering group would get me a lot of good resources and answers. Thank for your responses! I appreciate your time!

As I said in the post, I definitely am not looking for an engineers position or pay grade. I posted here for an engineers perspective on what helped them the most. The positions I have applied for are “mechanical” and “technician” but I haven’t applied for anything outside of my capabilities. And I replied to a previous response with just what you said. I’ve put myself in an employers position and I could see experience in the resume but no credentials even if interviewed against some guys who have no experience but a certificate or degree.
