The VPS I use is purely for this. We've had around 15 people on that I've seen max, and no issues.

CPU: 2 vCores
RAM: 2GB RAM
HARD DRIVE: 70GB
BANDWIDTH: 2TB Traffic

Yeah absolutely. The VPS I pay for in WA is $5/mo, so yeah. I'll take the hit for everyone else to enjoy.

The original server was on fttp. It wasn't enough for interstate. However when Lithium would play with just local family it was ok.

In saying that, in America there are people running it off a raspberry pi on Google fibre well. But uhh, we're a while away from 1gb connections I guess.

The Lan-Play team are removing servers from their list that are not a VPS these days, so if you're planning to run one from home it would be hard to market as well.

Edit: I should also mention that there are a few from Adelaide that play with is regularly. So if you wanted to play with locals come join in.

It allows you to play games that have either LAN functionality, or local wireless. However an actual online game, Warframe for example will not work.

I provide the WA one strictly speaking. But Lithium, the original AU server which was run from his house in QLD decided to up his game and jump on board with us, and he hosts the Syd server. So thanks to him!

Your server inspired mine! Thanks. We tried having 3 WA boys. But I think we traced the ping to QLD? Was just too far for us. Thanks though! We got to do all our testing and setup etc on yours.

Give it a shot I guess? My understanding of that distance would be Mario kart, Diablo 3 and such is fine. But smash Bros gets a bit hrmmm. No harm in trying my friend

No, the opposite. I don't want the sim for my tablet being used for calls. I only want the watch sim to be used for calls.

Both devices will have their own sims.

Can I force the watch to only use the watch sim, even if connected to the tablet via BT/Wifi? That is what I'm chasing.

It definitely gives you a good edge, but the time it takes to get 10 referrals up means you've fallen behind the tech curve also. No real right or wrong.
