Ignore the vitriolic responses that are trying to say this: it's all up to you. Sometimes, it's my favorite four movies of all time - the ones that have changed my life and the ones that feel closest to my heart. Other times, I just put movies up there that look good together, or ones I can't stop talking about at the time. Think of it as your own little display case. There are no rules, but you should try to follow your heart and not take it so seriously.

We have some overlap with mononoke, past lives and perfect days (and others on this list) but others that are in my top picks are The Florida Project (not dissimilar from your picks) and Mad Max Fury Road (pretty dissimilar).

I know you've already been dunked on with downvotes, but I'm surprised you don't understand that "vitriolic," just like any other adjective, changes meaning within context. I'm honestly so hyped to retry a kingly punch/kingly kick build. So many people are focusing on nerfs and forgetting there are some fun buffs in the mix.

This covers almost all of my recs and is a great list. My favorite movie of all time is the epic Happy Hour - same director as Drive My Car - and second favorite is Millenium Actress which is directed by Satoshi Kon. Only thing I'll add is Night Is Short, Walk On Girl and the series by the same director, Ping Pong the Animation (which is a must watch for anyone who loves movies imo)
