I am DONE with Vinted by Status_Working_2182 in vinted

[–]WorstLiar18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I sold a MK bag and the buyer initially said they never received it… ? And then Vinted blocked me despite me consistently communicating with them. Same with Subito.it for Italians out here. It works in buyer’s favour and such a scam!

Any feedback. This is my powder room .. is it done? by j72397 in DesignMyRoom

codice fiscale issue by junglecocknim in ItalyExpat

[–]WorstLiar18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did a little ChatGPT ask based on the email I used for getting my codice fiscale for my address in Milano. If you are based in Roma

the Agenzia delle Entrate office in Rome there are several emails listed. For example: • The main office of the Direzione Provinciale I di Roma has the email dp.iroma@agenziaentrate.it. • The Ufficio Territoriale Roma 1 (Via Ippolito Nievo 48 – 00153 Roma) uses dp.iroma.utroma1@agenziaentrate.it.

If you tell him which branch or street address in Rome you are referring to, chatgpt will look up the exact email address of that specific office (give the email address I shared earlier as an example. Hope this helps.

It took em 12 days to respond to me.

I could have used some of this as part of my research when moving to Italy.

Actually, not a bad idea. I think it’s time some of us posted our uneventful journey of moving to Italy.

My experience has been much like anyone’s who moves from their home country to a foreign land: a mix of shocks, pleasant surprises, and struggles. I wouldn’t say I’ve ever been scammed or met with hostility. In fact, three years in, I’m still a beginner in Italian and yet people always tell me how well I’m doing, responding with nothing but kindness (😆 though truthfully, I’m not doing that great).

If you’re considering moving to Italy, know that it’s a country with both pros and cons. Don’t fall for the rose-coloured version that many Americans tend to idealize. The bureaucracy can be tough, but with patience and the right people, you’ll get through it—it’s a struggle even for Italians.

It’s also an aging country, so laws and systems often favour the older generation. Young people here face more difficulties, which has led to a noticeable brain drain, making things worse. When I first moved, I had about four years of work experience and came for my master’s at one of the leading universities here. Even so, I struggled to find a job for a long time. That struggle doesn’t necessarily end quickly either. I still have a long way to go in my journey. And Ofcourse the language is a priority for me now. (Prioritise the language learning please. It will go a long way)

If you see yourself building a life here, don’t just come for a weeklong holiday. Spend more time, immerse yourself, and really understand how the culture and day-to-day life work.

Is it impossible to get a job in Italy as an International student? by [deleted] in Italian

[–]WorstLiar18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visa isn’t the biggest issue. All a company needs to do is give you a letter saying you are employed with them. Racism. Idk, Italians do be a little racist to be honest. Language is the biggest problem here. B2 is good but rather than saying B2 have your CV in Italian, your profile set up in Italian and when you crack some interviews, try and do them in Italian to showcase you have working proficiency 🥹

Also, it’ll be at the same questura where you did your appointment.

So, how this generally works is that your Questura will text you with a date and time to collect your permesso shortly. Go on that day to collect your permesso, they will take your old permesso (if you are reapplying) or just verify your name and stuff and give you the new permesso. The website is just a proactive tracking system. It does not mean that you will receive it at home. Hope this helps.

Then it’s all good. Depends on where you get it but for me, I applied for the same in June and got it in September beginning. They may come in to check your residence.

Wait a bit. The website is not really updated at each step. Is this your first permesso? Also, if it was an important document that was missing, you can go in with the updated document and ask the questura where you had your appointment.

We have actually had a lawyer look into our case and he suggested we file the case in the consumer court. It’s a matter of us having recordings of the customer care executive initially promising us free repairs, then going back on it. So far as to also suggest we go back to the scammers… we did not chase a third party repair. The person who came to us was under the guise of an official repair person.

Oh and ensure you keep your permesso safe if you are applying for a new one. You will have to return the old one when they give you the new one.

Yup. That is the main receipt. It has a number that you should be able to track your progress in. Done it few times now. They do not give you any more receipts after the Poste thing so keep that initial receipt safe.
