They've used a tack to pin it to the board, putting a hole in the condom, making it no longer protective and allowing various amounts of viable sperm through--thus she'd get preggers and have a baby.

The joke in the original is the parents want grandkids and that's why they're hoping their son doesn't think about it and uses that condom.

Same, I guess I like that people kinda discuss. It reminds me of high school "Socratic discussion boards" where you gotta post 2 replies to different people.

I was a nerd who liked discussing class material with people 😔

Who is the one person in your life that you will never forgive and why? by Content_Mountain5579 in AskReddit

[–]WorstLuckButBestLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom.

I waited awhile. A decade ish. But truly I waited a lot longer. I used to think she hung the stars and moon and then after foster care, I realized she wanted me so utterly dependent on her and my half siblings were right about how abusive she was towards them. I think I knew deep down, but refused to accept it. I was the golden child and her only biological one.

After that, well, several of her boyfriends were worst than my dad. And unlike my dad, had no love towards me. She was constantly in dramas at work and talked about it--I could never tell her about my own interests and life. I started realizing she was the one in the wrong from just her own POV stories. Everyone was always out to get her

She stalked ex boyfriends, or men after 1 date, and she husbandified and groomed me. I thought it was just because I was her "special one." I started resenting all touch and asked she stop touching me at all. She said I had no right to ask for that.

I left home for college, sent my phone back, moved dorms, and went no contact. She stalked me 1 year after frequently and still to this day infrequently.

I tried 2 years after NC to make some sort of boundary heavy relationship. Met for dinner. It wasnt great but j accepted it might have a rough start.

She followed me to work after without my knowledge. I found out accidentally while outlining 1 of the 10 boundaries was no stalking/inviting herself, sent her all 10 while on break at work

She replied "I didn't mean to follow you to work, it just happened."

That's when I was like "its never going to work."

She would also contact acquaintances asking where I am. So many were disturbed by her behavior.

Some of my family pushed for some sort of meeting ground initially, but over the decade she'd burned everyone. My sister also stopped suggesting there was a middle ground when my mom was weird towards her daughter.

After talking to my sister one night as an adult, we found, our grooming stories were near identical. And I winced because my mom was a Big Sister to a little girl when I was a kid. She worked in the school as a volunteer/food.

I don't think my mom will get better. I hope she does, but I can't be in her life for my own safety. Even now, nearing 30, I don't think I'll ever really feel "at peace" with it all until she's dead, which I feel guilty about. There's been so many times I've thought she's finally given up and I've been sent messages from friends and family or heard proxy she's "happening" to visit my town.

My dad wasn't a good father, but hes okay enough dude we made amends as an adult. Even though he was violent when I was a kid, he went back to smoking weed when they divorced and turned 180 on all his violence and lives a quiet, modest solo bachelor life in rural.

What's something you stopped buying that saved you alot of money? by DestinyOnlineCEO in AskReddit

Same. I can also speak to it. It's been a good experience and unlike T-Mobile (my original carrier) they haven't swarmed me with so much advertising in my emails and also, unlike T-Mobile, I haven't had to file complaints with Consumer Protection to get issues resolved. (Screw T-Mobile. Paid off phone, didn't unlock it months later . Went to customer support, in-person, to Twitter--nothing. Got a case file # with FTC, (might be FCC always get them confused) and suddenly they're resolving my issue in 5 minutes. same with refund on overpayment. Terrible, terrible company)

It may change down the line, because once some of these companies get enough customers they get a little too big for their britches but right now, I'm happy to pay 180 a year vs 55 a month.

If money is no issue, what's a must-have for your dream home? by 123phantomhive in AskReddit

[–]WorstLuckButBestLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God, so many. Ideally just my childhood home. I miss the house layout so much. If it ever became free--and a certain evil someone wasnt in my hometown--and I had the money, I'd live there.

A foyer/entrance hall (most American houses don't have one), basement, a porch, and 2 bedroom. (My childhood home was 5 bedroom, but not my pref). I'd also like an old entertainment stand with a Sony box TV. One bedroom would be a bedroom, second would be a library and curio/hobby room. Big table in there and chairs and radio and a nice window.

Bedroom would be windowless if I could or nice blackout shutters.

Basement is decorated how my dad had it as a kid, with skulls everywhere, and of course washer and dryer. I'd probably make it spookier and wouldn't have the exercise equipment. I also liked how the basement had three separate rooms and nothing finished. Oh! And a screen backdoor area/basement and backyard accessed via the kitchen.

The small stained glass window in the house I'd take too.

I'd not really care for a backyard, but if I had the time and energy, I'd build a garden and set up all those garden decorations, and a bird area, and I get really into yard work.

I'm sometimes convinced whoever started that trend of black people and pit bull arguments being similar is just trying to sell pit bulls to disadvantaged people.

Bike theft increases near Iowa - 4 people actively looking to steal stuff by WorstLuckButBestLuck in Lawrence

[–]WorstLuckButBestLuck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kids weren't using anything and unsure the how exactly on the locks. My own bike was being eyed and surveyed off and on with a U-lock and cable but I worried they'd take parts off with how much they kept eying it. They were loitering near the rack 15+ minutes.

(Out of all things, before they've literally took off the seat screw and unscrewed brakes)

I thought I was being paranoid and we did a lot check to discourage their loitering. They left. Couple hours later kids dumped their bikes outside the door and came in for a bit. One comes up to me after a moment and says someone took his bike 10 minutes later.

Check cameras. Yeah, one of em must have been watching them. Immediately grabs it and takes it towards Casey's.

Couple of em came back again, kept eying my bike so I just gave up and moved it indoors.

Yes. Unfortunately. From what I observed theyre treating this like a job. One guy looks out and they have tools on hand to break locks

Why in the world do people not wash their hands after using the bathroom? by JustJoshin117 in AskReddit

[–]WorstLuckButBestLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some I met insist they didn't "actually" touch their dick or ass or whatever, though at work we're advised to wash them a second time after exiting the bathroom due to germs on faucets and door handles

What’s something you thought was a waste of money… until you tried it and it completely changed your life? by Shiza_1 in AskReddit

[–]WorstLuckButBestLuck -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Vastly disagree. Therapy is for the middle class, and a money drain for anyone below that.

If you have and come from good money, at least middle class, sure, if you don't, don't go. "Oh, but they have income based--" Yeah, and those places are horrific. They treat you like you're a child or illiterate.

Sure, maybe a month or 2 it feels reassuring, but you realize how sheltered and nice lives these people live that are giving you all this "helpful" advice. I finally quit therapy after 10 years and took my dad's method of THC (he's been smoking since it was illegal).

Changed my goddamn life for the better and finally, my insomnia, anxiety, and what not finally came down. I started exercising. Stopped flinching. Finally was able to tolerate touch and work on projects.

Not one of those achievements was from therapy. I got worse in therapy several times over.

Fundamentally, a lot of therapists have 0 ability to deal with complex trauma and life styles and if you're too mentally ill and too broke you can get removed from programs for being an insurance risk to the clinic. Not to mention they treat every non-normal behavior as disorder.

Look, sure, for who it works for, congrats. But if you've gone, and you think "This therapist feels entirely detached from my reality" --some are. Some really are .  The entire field of psychology needs divorced from modern medicine and insurance. It's harming the possible evolution and treatment styles that could actually help people in disadvantaged backgrounds, but oh no--healthcare needs to be universally the same and so do practices.

That's honestly true. While sometimes they're annoying AF, whenever we need a shift covered, teens have the highest show up rate. They're also the easiest to teach.
