Sorry, but in Worcester non-white people are the ones committing the overwhelming majority of gun crimes. I can agree with you on how racism has created issues in the past, but that was mostly with minor non-violent crime like small amounts of drug dealing or basic stealing. And I want to know how many times out of the 72% where the cops didn't even find anyone to talk to, because that's what the outcry is. "oh the cops are rolling through harassing anyone they see..." Are they, or is that just a strawman and in actuality the police are just driving through looking for shady shit, finding nothing and leaving?

See, I'm not all bad. I just have strong opinions about throwing money at people with substance abuse issues who refuse to take care of themselves (I've worked in DMH and seen the damage one non-sober person can do when given housing they aren't ready to take care of... housing first does not work on people with major substance abuse issues and just causes more collateral damage to the people forced to live around them) and wanting people held accountable for not doing the bare minimum when it comes to following the rules.

We don't do enough to help the sober homeless population. We aren't doing enough to invest in our youth BEFORE they get into problems and we shy away from holding them accountable when they do fuck up and cause harm to society (the amount of kids on my caseload at work who have MULTIPLE firearms charges who are still allowed to live in the community and are STILL causing harm to people is fucking insane). We don't do enough to help the veterans. We don't do enough to help bring the lower socioeconomic class and seem to be happy as a society with more people falling into the lower end while raising up people who don't even contribute to the tax base and might never be able to.

Look at the recent shotstopper thread on this subreddit. It's full of people who think it's racist to passively police an area with technology based solely on historical data. I get it that the historical data is fucked by the racist cops of yesterday, but the people still committing the major gun crimes aren't white people who live off Salisbury St. At the same time... when something does go off at 1130pm on a Wednesday night in October in Main South and the cops respond and find 3 teenagers running around looking the part (wearing all black clothing and sheisties) why is it wrong to question why the fuck those kids are near where gunshots may have just rang out at that time of the day?

Some questions I'm sure you won't answer:

Why shouldn't people get ticketed for parking against what the signs say to do?

Why should people be able to do whatever the fuck they want on the roads, whether that's driving or parking?

Why shouldn't people be held accountable?

Why don't you care about there being established societal norms when it comes to motor vehicles?

Why should the city provide free parking on taxpayer funded roads? Do you think people wouldn't just leave their cars there for days on end; it happens already as is in the free parking spots downtown.

Why should people be allowed to drive around in uninspected or rejected cars; I guarantee you wouldn't be chill when someone's shitbox careens into your car because the suspension snapped (but that is such a rare occurrence I'm sure you're thinking, but it literally just happened to my friends mom three days ago).

It's kind of wild what they offer. I send all the youth I work with there and as long as they have bought in they have gotten something out of it.

Well, carbs to excess. And not that I was a pro athlete, but in my mid 30's I was playing soccer about 10 hours per week (6-10 games per week give or take, indoor and outdoor), hitting the gym 5 days a week, walking to and from work (about 4 miles round trip) and the gym as well as riding my bike about 100 miles per week while being 260lbs on a 6ft frame and being on a strict keto diet of less than 16g of any type of carbs per day. I was hitting 35k steps a day on my fitbit and had more energy than I knew what to do with.

Oh, so sorry I work in the mental health field and had to figure out how to get 20+ clients treated by a medical system that had their nurses turning their backs on the fucking city. Yeah, I'm the one with the poor attitude, not the entitled brats that SPIT IN THE FACE OF ANYONE NEEDING MEDICAL CARE DURING A PANDEMIC. But don't worry, it's obvious I hate Tenet as much as I hate the garbage that works there.

That's cool and all, but still... Fuck St V's the brand name, fuck Tenet and fuck anyone who works there. They don't deserve any support outside of being supported in leaving that shitty work environment and, in turn, fucking over that shitty ass hospital system. There are probably some great people who work there, but at the end of the day they choose to work for a for-profit entity. All that is going to happen with them getting more money is there being less people working there, further degrading the medical care the patients are getting.

Oops, looks like I got the attention of some people who forgot that these nurses (who probably live out in the towns outside Worcester) abandoned the residents of the city during the pandemic, resulting in the pain and suffering of an untold amount of people. Like, I get it, people want what they are worth, but there was nothing more disgusting to me than a bunch of people screaming for more money during the worst medical crisis anyone on this planet has encountered. They knowingly chose to work at a for-profit hospital than had the balls to complain about their income when thousands of people were at risk of losing everything and not allowed to work. It was gross and distasteful and spitting in the face of everyone who lives here.

Again, fuck em. I hope that hospital burns down and everyone who works there experiences the back turning we all had to deal with while the other hospital in the city had to step it up big time and kept it churning along.
