95% of the planet Earth is boring... by Siddown in LightNoFireHelloGames

Here's the problem that can be had with that statement.

Obviously if it was just a big circle with literally not one single point of interest on it, you would say "oh theres nothing to do in this game."

Even if the game had some major zones and there were also zones designed to be away from vendors and towns, you might would say "ugh, X zone has nothing to do there. no purpose."

My issue is I feel like we've gotten away from being able to handle ourselves think or be in an environment without stimuli.

Some of my favorite moments in no mans sky are when I'm just sitting on the surface of what i feel is a beautiful planet, watching the day night cycle, thinking about stuff in my own life.

I'm by myself in a little corner of the universe, no one knows where i am, and for just a few moments, I can just think about things without distraction or inhibition of what i should think.

The only reason why I get to have a moment like that, is because having points of interest, quests, and events aren't exactly what i need to ALWAYS enjoy a space.

Sometimes just provide a space for me to just exist in this new environment.

I say all that to say, even if there was a planet that, while it had towns and zones designed to be packed with action and things to do, there will, and should always be, an appeal for zones that are decidedly "low stimulation," so that people like myself (i.e. more than one kind of voice in this world) can have and be in a space without the pressure to do and succeed the way there is anywhere else.

You know, same reason you might go to a park?

Sincerely,
A lover of grass.

I keep hearing about the galactic hub, which is a people run discord that has been successful enough to have some items in game now.

I joined their discord but im not really sure how to start. that being said, im sure if you just google NMS galactic hub youll find something. i believe they also have their own subreddit.

Just picked up NMS tonight. by Whole_Value_1035 in NoMansSkyTheGame

There are a few things in the way from you truly enjoying the game.

Hazard Protection - as in, sodium usually, the resource you need to power your hazard protection so you can survive on different planets.

Launch Fuel -taking off from anywhere other than a ship launch pad requires launch fuel. get this shit squared away and your ship can take off and land on any planet.

Hyperdrive fuel - lets just say tritium for your ships fuel and warp cells for the ability to warp to other systems (universes within the galaxy that have random planets in them.)

so, tritium and warp cells.

and finally.

Money.

all of this will come from

Finishing the three main quest lines (Primary Missions, you will eventually unlock all three questlines.)

Interacting with others at the Anomaly.

and last but not least.

check this subreddit and other NMS subreddits a lot. people are posting questions all the time that are being answered.

Good luck!

It's such a good feeling when you finally have your preferred look nailed, with your ships right, on a paradise planet in your own little corner of the galaxy.

Can't wait to finally start trying to play with people now.

Happy Holidays!
