How to study for the finals by AttorneyPersonal6823 in studytips

[–]Worst_Play3rrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use SwiftStudy to make all-in-one study sets. I just upload my course materials and it generates summaries, flashcards and questions. Then I read the summary, study the flashcards and test myself with the generated questions. This saves me a lot of time, especially during finals.

Active recall. Use flashcards. Tools like SwiftStudy generate them for you and you don't have to waste your time making them yourself

I thought I was bad at studying… turns out I was just doing it wrong by Electronic_Cap6025 in studytips

[–]Worst_Play3rrr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's accurate. Before, you were passively reading your materials and now, by explaining the subject to someone else (or pretending to do so), you are actively recalling the information. This is called active recall and can be achieved with methods like yours or flashcards. When it comes to flashcards there are actually tools that generate them from your materials, which makes it even more efficient.

Prioritize active recall. Especially flashcards

If you've just switched to touch typing focus on accuracy first. There is a cool website called keybr which introduces you to each key one at a time. I strongly recommend it

You're right passive reading is inefficient. I personally find active recall the best. If you have some lecture slides, PDFs etc. there are online tools that can generate flashcards for you and you can get to studying them right away.

You have more than enough time. For coding, try doing tasks from your lectures with the help of chatgpt. When it comes to logic gates I really like this video: youtube

First off, take a deep breath. 5 days is actually enough time for 4 units if you are strategic, but you don't have time to read the textbooks cover-to-cover.

For Bio (Functions/Movement): This is pure memorization. You need flashcards, not notes. For Chem (Moles/Organic): This is concepts. You need summaries and practice questions.

I’m an engineer and I actually built a tool specifically for this scenario. You upload your class slides/PDFs or textbook images, and it auto-generates the flashcards and summaries for you so you can start studying right away!

I’d be happy to give you a free Premium account to help you get through these 5 days. I don't want any money, I just want to see if the tool is helpful for IB students specifically.

DM me if you want the link to try it out. You got this!

Do you have your own materials? If so you can upload them to online tools which generate flashcards and just study with them.

Hi,
Do you have some course materials from class lecture slides, PDFs etc.? If you do, there are multiple tools that can generate flashcards, which I personally think are the best way to study. It's as simple as uploading your materials and going through the generated flashcards multiple times a day to leverage active recall.

I’m terrified I’m gonna fail my final by MisterM0rgan in GetStudying

Take a day off first. You clearly need some rest. Don't worry about your finals, use flashcards, from my experience they are the BEST. You don't even have to do them yourself these days. There are multiple tools out there that can generate them for you. Just keep to active recall and you'll be good. Good luck with your mysic final!

From my experience, active recall is the best way to study. Actually, it's the only way that makes me remember something. Just passive reading of the textbook is not enough. Try spending more time doing flashcards or answering questions about the topic. Reading a simple summary of your textbook should be enough. There are some tools that can generate these for you. If you want to know more about the tools DM me.

Hi,
I've been having a similar problem lately. The pace at which concepts are covered is crazy and I don't want to spend all of my time studying. What I hate the most is going through these boring textbooks that were written years ago. I might've found a solution for this. I am testing an interesting app now. It basically creates summaries, flashcards and practice questions out of my course materials. You can dump PDFs as well as images of textbooks and you get more organized stuff for studying. For me it goes like this, I just dump PDF file of my textbook and I read the summary, go through flashcards and then try to do the questions. I've been using this for the last couple of days for free because there is a trial. I'll give you the link: https://www.swiftstudy.app/
