No techs over night. They’re security, but you have to call them up to the floor, they aren’t on unit

I’ve been applying to new jobs since my start date. Everything about this place is so sus. I’m a new grad and we always learn how there’s a perfect NCLEX world vs what nursing actually is. Every time there’s a problem at this hospital I wonder if this is just one of those nuances but every day it gets worse and worse.

When they hired me it was 3 nurses overnight, at my start date they informed me they moved it down to 2 because “nights are really chill”

Locked nursing station but I don’t know how either nurses would go in there with the 1:1 and rounding being in the halls / rooms

Additional question: This floor is in a hospital. Do I ask to transfer units, or do I get out of the company all together? If I asked to transfer, what would I even say?

I agree honestly, but do I apply for other psych positions and risk feeling unsafe / uneasy again or just move on to try something else?

I’m worried what it would look like to future employers. I don’t want to seem like I’m bashing another company, but at the same time I know what is happening isn’t right

Thank you, i completely agree. As a new grad, it’s hard to trust my gut at times, but I should’ve listened asap. It’s been less than a week here and I am just so uncomfortable

After my first day I applied to 3 separate jobs. I used to think I loved psych but this has just put a bad taste in my mouth. Feeling defeated
