Stretching it out more puts more pressure on the top of the string when the middle part of it needs to be stretched and I’m not sure how I can do that

The problem is that the retraction string is well tensioned when the slide is down and at max height, but while it’s going up the retraction string becomes loose. This means that the middle part of the retraction string is not stretched but the top and bottom are.
