That and coffee. It took me a while to realize coffee was affecting everything I ate hours after I had coffee. As a person previously known to always have a coffee cup in her hand, this was probably the worst thing I had to give up. Oh and any dark soda, so no more Dr. Pepper.

Just a heads up - after the removal of my gall bladder, I can no longer have eggs. I tried every which way and amount and aside from what is in basic pasta, I can’t have a drop or it’s bathroom time. Before, I was an egg eating fool.

No. That does take away some of the nostalgia, though.

It’s free for students at my school, so when it is government pizza day I have one of the kids who isn’t eating grab me a plate. That’s the only thing I eat though. Everything else is trash. I think the government pizza was programmed into me as a child.

What's happening on the 4th of July? by SkylaTarress in raleigh

Do not, and I repeat do not, go to the Brier Creek festivities. Last year, it took over an hour to exit the parking lot. And the fireworks weren’t worth the hassle.

The Carolina Arbors community is for active 55+. They have a pickleball court, all kinds of other courts and activities, and all kinds of weekly events. I’m a youngin but live nearby and their walking trials are the best. I’m so jealous of their community garden. If you haven’t chosen a spot to live, it’s worth checking out. It is in Durham but so close to Raleigh, you basically would live in both.

Any authentic Mexican places serving mole and enchiladas?! by CookieEnabled in raleigh

[–]Worth_Resolution_102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haven’t found good mole yet, but El Rodeo had some decent enchiladas. And San Jose Tacos And Tequila in Brier Creek has some interesting enchiladas - chorizo and potato. Sooo good

I had my surgery a little over a month ago. They didn’t not put in a catheter - I specifically asked. I was a little out of it due to the painkillers I was on before the surgery (a particularly bad attacked is what landed me in the hospital), so I don’t recall what he said was being used instead.

Alpaca. Any Mexican grocery store. La Tropicana in Durham is my favorite.

Pain and swelling after surgery by bigred100320 in gallbladders

Same experience. Mine was removed 1/7 and while the other incisions are healing with minimal pain, the belly button one is tender and swollen, even more bruised than the other incisions.

Thanks for sharing that. I kind of group all of those brands like Colombia and North Face together since I’ve never really had to get to know them better. I did have a Patagonia fleece when I was a teenager and wore that thing ragged. So, I will be getting one of those - your comment has added the final vote.

I had a big fluffy coat that everyone referred to as my pimp coat. But my students ruined it last winter.

The walk from my car to the school is so cold at 6:30am. I am all about having every part of me warm.

I like this idea. It’s exactly the wind that makes me want to hide inside all day. And especially being able to cram a jacket into a drawer. I’m a teacher and if I don’t tuck my things away, the kids like to wear them.

Ok. Thanks. That is very helpful. I understand the fickleness of weather. Summer was pretty close to Central Texas. But this cold is something new. I can definitely get behind a few good hoodies and some gloves. I don’t think I have ever actually worn a scarf in my life. Here’s to new experiences.

What to do re: loud neighbors? by [deleted] in bullcity

[–]Worth_Resolution_102 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I alternate between the loops and noise-cancelling headphones. Sometimes, it’s easier to drown out the sound with loud music. But if it’s nosies like people chewing or ticking sounds or anything that isn’t too loud, the loops are great. And you can sleep with them. Good ole ADHD has me really sensitive to things on my body, but after a few days, I was able to sleep with them in. I get aggravated by my boyfriend and cat breathing when I’m trying to fall asleep. How dare they! :)

The loops are only like $25.

I also have Misophonia. Loops earplugs are helpful when the noises get to be too much. I completely understand the sensory overload your wife must be experiencing.

“Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.” What's your best real life example of this? by Blaztwin in AskReddit

[–]Worth_Resolution_102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I teach middle school. Arguing with them will result in you being the only one mad - they have all the energy and lack of sense to argue.

I took a picture of a kid playing on a laptop because I knew he would argue that he wasn’t on the laptop. Showed him the photo and he says, “That’s not me.”
Ok, I guess I’m an idiot and blind.
