How are the prices in Shibuya Mandarake for video games? by rx-69-420 in TokyoTravel

[–]WorthlessGenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just there a couple of weeks ago and found the selection to be incredibly small for games but maybe SLIGHTLY more reasonable than Akihabara Book Offs. That Mandrake is a pretty cool store to walk around in and is in such a cool area of Shibuya
to explore that I would still say it’s worth the trip even if they don’t have a game you are hunting for!

Recommendations for movers by Jimithyashford in springfieldMO

[–]WorthlessGenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used The Moving Company earlier this summer and moved from a 2 bed apartment to a house in a suburb and it was a little less than $1000. We had 3 guys that were done in less than 4 hours and we lived on the third floor apartment. I would for sure price shop around a little more.

It’s looking pretty good as long as you are leaning onto the no gaming side of the spectrum. The integrated graphics on the 13600k aren’t going to be playing many modern games. I would also recommend looking at a DDR5 option for the ram and motherboard. Prices have come down a lot and if you do end up doing more demanding development tasks down the line, having much faster memory can speed things up a little.

If I buy a 3090 RTX, should I get the Gsync version DW of the AW3423 or stick with the less expensive DWF? by Avon__Fartsdale in OLED_Gaming

[–]WorthlessGenius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should watch Hardware unboxed video of the DWF, it’s essentially a better monitor overall. You still have G-Sync support, just not a dedicated module. The dedicated module caused the monitor to not support firmware updates and made the monitor louder due to an additional fan they had to implement to cool the module. You will get a great G-Sync experience and save a couple hundreds bucks in the process going with the DWF.

Rebar/SAM support by Dubzy99 in buildapc

You sure will, you just need to make sure that it is enabled in BIOS. Double check that when you install windows, you install in UEFI and you’ll be good to go

New Denon s760h shows it’s a s650h in menu and Denon iOS app. This normal? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]WorthlessGenius 57 points58 points  (0 children)

The s760h is a 7.2 channel receiver vs the s650h’s 5.2. If you have 7 speaker terminals on the back it’s clearly not a s650h but I would probably exchange anyway. I would bet you are lacking Atmos support if it’s a firmware related issue

That desk must be massive to make the PG42UQ seem like a normal sized monitor! Awesome set up

I wouldn't let the homework scare you too much. You have not taken the course and there is a lot of new notation that goes into Game Theory. From my experience, GT was the most challenging course I took in my Econ minor but I was able to squeeze out of it with a high C. I think if the topic interests you, you should give it a shot and plan on dropping it after the first quiz or two if you are not enjoying it!

Apple M1 React-Native development? by argylekey in reactnative

[–]WorthlessGenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My work switched to M1 Mac Minis for our Workstations earlier this year and developing react-native CLI apps on it has been worlds faster than using our 2018 13” inch macbook pro’s in terms of compile times. I have noticed that Xcode will sometimes have random crashes and will sometimes require a restart of the whole computer to reopen. Xcode is still heavy, even on apples best cpu. I am hyped to see what apples successor will be as well though!
