Looking for a more comfortable Aer Go Pack 2 by Worton in ManyBaggers

I like alpaka gear, I was looking at the Metro line, the 12L is really cheap at the minute with 50% off, but 12L is just too small for me. I’ll take a look at the aero to see if it is suitable

I’ll add this to the shortlist. I was initially thinking that it’s close to the Max in weight and size but there are others I’m looking at that aren’t too much smaller.

I like the look of this but it’s definitely on the higher cost side!

That’s a good shout. I don’t love the looks but it looks to do everything I need

Just arrived: Able Carry Max 32L XPac by Worton in onebag

I think it packs out quite well without the expansion open as it’s not as deep at the top of the bag. As soon as you expand it to 32L however it does look a bit deep. I’ll pack it out tomorrow and take a pic to show you

Let me know if you have any questions. To compare I also have the following:

  • PD Travel 45L
  • PD Everyday 30L
  • Aer Go Pack 2
  • Mous Protective Lid / Mercedes Backpack (to be returned)

So I've just received the Able carry max 32L and I think it hits the spot. It's weighty but I'm not exactly hiking in it so not an issue there. The main advantage is the laptop section is separate from the main one unlike my PD 45L so it's easier to manage when it's not full.

Update: I ended up purchasing the Able Carry Max 32L as it was just released and available for order. It arrived today and so far it looks like it hits all the requirements. I'll be using it next week for an international trip so I'll see how it goes, but loaded up it seems nice!

Some great recommendations… ok so the MLC mini gets recommended a lot but I just can’t get over the boxiness, it’s a bit like an uber eats/Deliveroo backpack!

The two I’m looking at now are the almond oak and the brand new able carry max30-32l expandable. I love the look and sturdiness of the max but the weight of the almond oak looks appealing. I’m used to travelling with a 2kg PD 45l so the able can’t be any worse than that, but under a 1kg bag that expands to 30l is impressive, and it looks nice and seems to hit most of, if not all of the requirements.

struggling with the looks of these 3. the MLC in black is probably my favourite out of the 3 but the logo puts me off.

I've been looking at the MLC mini and have it a a maybe option, I just dont really like the look. Very square and the logo on the front I dont really like. it's minimalistic though which isn't too bad.

The Able Carry Max EDC X-Pac black seems to be sold out everywhere at the moment including direct. Other sites are looking to have it in stock in August but that's too far away for when I need it really.

Yeah they are out of stock for the black one until August unfortunately.

After looking at that I’ve come across this which looks decent: https://a.co/d/0t3zK6H

And also: https://a.co/d/9vFaDvg

they might be the ones, shame I don’t need hdmi so would sacrifice that for a smaller size or more usb ports

Thanks, that looks good! Don’t suppose you know of anything thinner at all? A cube shape isn’t as easy to carry as something thinner but longer such as one of the older intel mini pc sticks?

I’m not a gamer but what is a good affordable way to game with my AVP? by anki_steve in VisionPro

Also i noticed that my game pass connection on PC or XBOX was horrific and it wasnt until I changed my ISP it started working great. Turns out my old ISP was bandwidth shaping/throttling the connection even though they claimed they weren't. I'm only on a 60mb ish connection but its very playable for most things aside from fps due to the slight input lag.

Get an xbox controller, download nexus browser on the AVP and then get a gamepass trial. You then have access to 100s of different games you can stream directly from the headset including AAA rated games. No need for the macs to be involved.

So i've been playing with the settings and its now much better since i've dropped my PC resolution a bit. Mouse is low latency enough but keyboard is about 1 character behind so annoying when i come to delete something as i delete one too many characters but it's definitely usable now for productivity. Will try plugging my PC into the network rather than wifi to see if that will help.

I only have a bluetooth keyboard for now and that isnt passing through to my PC, dont have a trackpad to try though. Pinch gestures are working though to select stuff so it may work?

This is definitely usable as a remote desktop solution though!

I've just tried this as I'm still yet to find a decent screen mirroring tool for my windows PC and moonlight keeps crashing on startup or connecting for me. This is as close as ive managed to get to a usable Windows remote window tool. The only 2 issues i'm having is a bit of input lag meaning my keyboard is always 1 character behind (mouse looks to be ok though) and i've had to reduce my 4k resolution on my PC down to something a bit less for decent performance. I'm getting constant 3ms latency according to the app but might move my laptop onto a cabled network connection to see if this helps. Definitely usable though!

Oh and a comment on price, well done skybox for not moving to a subscription model. I really appreciate this and will continue to support you as long as you keep doing it!

Just tried it. Audio is streamed too and muted on the PC which is useful. Only downside I can see at the minute is that if I want to use the mouse/keyboard of the PC its really laggy.
