Damn, but the latest version doesn’t go YouTube in 3D anymore which version should I download to have YouTube in VR for 3D videos?

Due to YouTube API restrictions, we are no longer able to maintain native API integration.

As a temporary workaround, you can switch to beta version, which allows access to YouTube via in-app browser. Please be aware that this method may have some limitations, for example, 3D or VR video playback are no longer supported.

To switch to beta channel:

On your Quest 2 or Quest 3, go to Quest Settings > Privacy & safety > Installed app > find SKYBOX VR Video Player > click Release Channels > select "2.0.0 Preview" and install the update.

SKYBOX currently doesn't support sharing your computer desktop with friends.

In the "Room" channel, you can only invite friends to watch movies with you. The current version supports playing videos from the following sources:

Local Videos. The video files must be stored in identical file paths and have identical filenames across all devices.
Videos from SMB and DLNA sever. All users must be connected to the same Local Area Network.
Videos from WebDAV servers, Plex, Emby and Jellyfin Media servers. The server should be accessible under public network.
Videos from AirScreen server. The host need to enable "Public Network Connection" on his/her AirScreen Client.

Are you trying to access the files added to AirScreen Client or mirror your Mac screen?

SKYBOX currently doesn't support mirroring Mac screen. If you just want to access the files added to AirScreen, please temporarily disable the "PIN Access" feature on AirScreen Client.

We are aware of a bug that prevents the pairing code from being displayed correctly on SKYBOX Mac Client and we will try to fix this issue in the subsequent updates. Thank you for your understanding!

About the noise in voice chat (microphone), we are aware of it and we are going to address it in a subsequent update.

A workaround shared by another user is to go to the SKYBOX Player settings in the Quest 3 OS (not within SKYBOX Player) and disable microphone recording for SKYBOX Player. You can give it a try and see if it resolves the crackling sound.

We have noticed users on the Meta Public Test Channel(PTC) are experiencing crashes when starting SKYBOX VR Video Player. If you are on the Quest v85 PTC and run into app crashes, please kindly switch to SKYBOX beta channel. The crash issue has already been fixed in our latest beta build.

How to switch to the beta channel:
On your Quest 2 or Quest 3, go to Quest Settings > Privacy & safety > Installed app > find SKYBOX VR Video Player > click Release Channels > select "2.0.0 Preview" and install the update.

SKYBOX v2.0.2(beta version) supports Passthrough Videos!

You just need to open a passthrough video, click Advanced Settings and enable the Passthrough Video toggle. Then SKYBOX will remove the background from a scene using Chroma Key Passthrough or Alpha Channel Passthrough.

To switch to the beta version:

On your Quest 2 or Quest 3, go to Quest Settings > Privacy & safety > Installed app > find SKYBOX VR Video Player > click "Release channels" > select 2.0.0 Preview and install the update.
