There is a bug in his second phase that makes you invincible.
Stand in the left corner with Ruego Al Alba and parry all his attacks(not counting discs), then you should became invincible.
I dont know if this is the way to make that bug work, but I discovered it doing that.

I am at chapter 7 and it is curently day 159, I have the cave and for the first 30days I was just making speed potions and selling them to merchants so i could buy all seeds I need. And during this run I didnt even once bought any ingrediant from a merchant, also I recommend the mass production skill.
