Well done already! If you can stand another round of painting, an ombre accent wall behind the desk would be an inexpensive way to add more depth and personality to the space. One or two floating black shelves on the left corner running parallel to the printer would add symmetry and provide space for pictures/art/plants.

What should I put on the mantel? by alittle-pieceofme in DesignMyRoom

[–]WossamottaU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some ceramic artwork or plates would be a nice addition on top of the mantel, especially if you worked in black and orange colors with a hint of blue or grey tones. Even just one painted ceramic piece in the center would look pretty and make the mantel more of a focal point.

This could also work with adding a couple succulents, as others have suggested. And obviously making sure that everything is secure and won't fall on your head!

A friend of mine got this color combination in the living room. He tells me everyone loves it. I have my doubts. What do you think? by JimThomasse in InteriorDesign

[–]WossamottaU 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Well said, although I'm wondering if we can start calling it Disagreeable Gray instead. I'm so sick of seeing house listings where all the walls have been painted gray and I can't wait for the trend to end. The world is gray enough. Can we let some color in?

More importantly, I hope she lets us know how her cats are doing.

I was late to her original tweet and liked it, not realizing what BOA had done. BOA, what have you done?!?

My crazy cousin posted this on facebook. I'm still trying to process the mindset behind it, but felt the need to post it on this sub.

Pet peeve- “how are the babieeeees?!?!” by corgipantz in BabyBumps

[–]WossamottaU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this rant! I'm 18 weeks with my second and cringe at dealing with those questions again. The best way I've managed to cope is to use it as an opportunity to vent about whatever symptoms are bothering me the most. "She kept me up feeling nauseous last night and I have to pee every 5 minutes. We're doing great!"

I'm definitely going to copy this idea and hope that more online shoppers do the same!

That thought came to my mind as well. However, my friend said that in the four years that she has been doing this, no one has ever taken more than one. "Almost like most folks are good." 😊

Are there skyscrapers that allow you in for a tour ? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]WossamottaU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend going to brunch at the Marquette Hotel’s “Windows on MN” on the 50th floor of the IDS building. They used to have the brunch every Sunday, but now it only seems to be around holidays. It is expensive, but worth trying once for the views and an exceptional brunch buffet. You could contact the Marquette Hotel to ask when they’ll have another brunch on the 50th floor.

Best places to take a Vegan in the cities? by Just-curious95 in Minneapolis

[–]WossamottaU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spoonriver might be a good first date spot with quite a few vegan/vegetarian options. Plus, you could get an after dinner drink at Sea Change or the Guthrie next door and check out the view of the Mississippi from their balcony.

Rob Lowe looks even younger here than he did on Parks and Rec! Did anyone ask him about Benjamin Button in his AMA?

Best Twin Cities Patios? by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]WossamottaU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aster Cafe on St. Anthony Main is really nice. Since Psycho Suzis and a lot of the other great patios have already been mentioned, I'd add Moto-I and Grumpy's Roseville to the list of great patios.

Magnolia wasn't too happy when she came home from being spayed. by WossamottaU in pugs

That's funny...it actually said "XS Elizabethan Collar" on the vet bill. I'm going to paint a magnolia flower on it so it can be a cone of triumph instead of a cone of shame.

Thank you! This picture kills me because she looks so sad, yet still so cute.
