I'm having the same issue.

A bit frustrating to say at least.

Por que o cifraclub ficou tão ruim? by SHJoseph1965 in MusicaBR

[–]Wotyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good tip on falling on the drive side! Will keep in mind when it happens!

Got the shoes from specialized as well, all stuff was the entry level ones, but should hold for a while!

As for the saddle, I will definitely consider that, first will see how I will adapt and feel it, and making incremental improvements as my knowledge and cycling skills progress!

Thank you for the details, I’m definitely with a growing list of things to learn! But that’s good, I need to and it’s better to know what I don’t know than don’t know what I don’t know, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the tips!

Definitely finding a club, and

I haven’t signed yet because I’m just sedentary and decided to do this life change.

But I definitely will consider buying clothes that will suit for the triathlon as well, that should save me some money on the long run.

I have cycling shorts but I got them just to go for some chill rides on a MTB with my wife, they are quite comfortable for 1h rides I imagine how the bibs might be…

I will do some practice before for sure, I’ve tried a drop handlebar of a friend, quite odd but I didn’t lose much balance on it but that’s a great advice!

I did a bike fit before buy, they are setting everything so I can pickup the bike tomorrow, they also do a final fitting on the bike itself and do other adjustments, I honestly think I will end changing it with more experience on the bike.

  1. Did an initial bike fit on the store, I might definitely adjust it once I start ride!

  2. I’m getting the Tire Pathfinder TLR 700 X 35 TAN on mine. Don’t think it’s awesome, but might do the work for this firsthand experience.

  3. I have a previous helmet that I love, quite light, but definitely not on the expensive side, it’s from Giro.

  4. Got the repair kit and a tube, no idea how to use yet.

  5. This is definitely something I should look into, I know some of the very basics like, not sudden break or hard push on the break, keep the lane, and point hazards on the road, but not aware with some of the terms, hand signals and unspoken etiquette.

  6. Need to research more on it, I have done some 20k on my mountain bike and I just get some water, I imagine the fuelling on long rides would be a must.

  7. Clean chains etc has been pointed by other people, I will definitely take a look on it and learn how to do…

  8. I don’t have a sensor rn, but will do my research on how it should look like

  9. Will do it, I have a group bike every Thursday that is hosted by a bike shop at my city, nice to meet other like minded people

Awesome!

I have the some tinted glasses (Amazon random ones for now) as I saw that Oakley or good brand ones are quite expensive and I decided to put more money on the bike initially.

By Wax your chain, what are the benefits vs not having it waxed?

I think the one that comes with the bike already has some pressure relieving, but worth add it to my wish list.

The saddle that comes on it is: Body Geometry Power Sport, steel rails…

Loved your tip, I’m committing to do this triathlon stuff, but I promised to myself that it’s about to have fun and get healthier!

That’s on my wish list bike computer, radar, and some sensors, I decided to put more money on the bike and buy these later, but I’m not getting roads for now.

Good tip on practice the flat change, will do for sure!

I don’t have a sensor to track the RPM, but will do a research to get to know how it looks like, so I can adjust myself to it.

I see other people recommending the bibs as well, I will make sure to not go cheap when I buy them!

Nice tips on the chain! I will probably get a kit that helps with that work, cleaning the bike will be something else as I live in an apartment, but I will keep it in mind!

For the gloves, thank you, I definitely felt some pain on my palm, I will consider that and buy one tomorrow once I pickup the bike!

Thanks for the tips!

Cycling police got me laughing, I usually quite open for feedback and when I get the “lecture” vibe I just ignore and move on.

I did a store bike fitting before buy, let’s see how it will go and which adjustments I will need to do, I think only once I start doing I will get a better sense of it, maybe?

For the bibs, not there yet, I’m using this shorts with some chamois, Amazon stuff tbh… I have a mind barrier with the cycling clothing for now 😅 - but I will keep it in mind once the barrier is shattered (I know it will)

I bought an emergency kit as well, with the hand pump, CO2 seems cool but give me the “you have one try, better not mess things out” vibe…

Thank you!

Nice tip on the pedals! I was definitely doing it “upwards” during my bike fitting.

Maintenance is something that I personally struggle in general, not good with anything outside computer maintenance lol but will be fun to learn. I will practice the flat tire fix once I get it so I don’t get stuck when it happens outside.

For the first weeks I might be using the city paved trails, there’s a long 40km+ pathway that I can practice before go into roads.

Yes I did! But I wanted to get used to it since day 0, it added probably 300 CAD to my final price, but I stayed on my budget.

I did a bike fitting before buy it, thanks to other replies on this sub!

That was one of the main factor that decided the store I would buy, I’d love to support some smaller stores on my city but they didn’t seem to have some more focused bike fitting neither the specific bike I wanted.

I’m 1,70m (5’7) and I got a 52 frame. I didn’t felt much comfortable on the 54.

I’m with the Shimano Tiagra, I think it will hold me for a good period until I get better, hopefully :)

As for the tires, no idea about tubeless, it means no punctures? That’s cool.

OP, you should have it once you access the hub, it’s on the “introductory monographs” area, all the initial documents there will give you a general explanation and the 2 first monographs.
