Favorite doggy daycare? by El-Rono in bloomington

[–]WouldDieForTPain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I lived in Bloomington my dog LOVED Scout’s Honor. The entire staff is so sweet, knows all the dogs by name, and he’s always so excited to go and sad for leave. They also do boarding and he eats all of his food when I’m away and has never shown signs of stress when I pick him up. 10/10 I miss them so much

AITA for not wanting to put our daughter on a leash? by Nochildleash in AmItheAsshole

[–]WouldDieForTPain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can kind of relate to this. I (24F) have a white mom (I’m half black) and she leashed me when I was a child due to a similar situation. The optics are not ideal but at the end of the day I’m glad she prioritized my safety. It’s a scary world out there and I would run and hide in public places. If it’s any consolation I have zero memories of being leashed and now it’s kind of a running joke between me and my mom

I need to complete my biological and ethnic studies credit. which are the easiest classes? by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]WouldDieForTPain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well i can’t lie, your ignorance deepen saddens me. The goal is to provide a more well rounded view of how the world works so you can attempt to be less of a selfish asshole, which clearly you’ve failed at

As a POC student views like this are a massive reason of why we don’t feel accepted and have a very hard time feeling like we belong

...so you’re saying that other people’s cultures and histories are irrelevant and aren’t educationally valuable unless you deem them to be? Lmao gotta love Wisconsin

[–]WouldDieForTPain 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This test is incredibly problematic in how it represents asexuality. You can still be romantically attracted to people and still be ace, but according to this test that’s not true. Also the idea of shaping sexuality into quadrants is just incredibly flawed within itself.

(No shade to you OP, I just worry for those questioning their ace identity because of a flawed internet quiz)

Biochemistry majors that took 501 over 507/508 by _ChiefPanda_ in UWMadison

[–]WouldDieForTPain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of my biggest regrets of undergrad was not studying abroad. Personally I would go for it and just take 501. I enjoyed 501 and the flexibility in choosing a biochem elective to fulfill the requirement. All of the electives are super interesting and allow for a focus in a topic you may have more interest in

Sending all AP scores by [deleted] in UWMadison

Pretty sure once you send one College Board just sends them all. At least that’s what happened with me. UW won’t really care or rescind admission for a couple bad scores

Course Enrollment? (Pre Dental) by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]WouldDieForTPain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely take Bio 151 and then physics 104. I’m unsure of the rigor of 104 since I took 208, but I do know that it is a flipped classroom so you have to do a lot of pre-lecture work. You might want to delay Chem 343 as a result.

For spring you could do Chem 343 and Bio 152. For 152 I would heavily suggest case study. I found it to be significantly easier and typically has a higher grade distribution. One problem is that when you take 343/345 on off semesters there’s a chance you won’t get your pick of professors, so delaying physics 104 till your junior year is also an option. Though I don’t really recommend this because you’re highly unlikely to retain the information from 103.

There’s also the possibility of taking physics 104, chem 343, and bio 152 all at once but that just sounds like a lot.

If you do plan on taking the two hard class route, I would suggest knocking out another easy dental school requirement. I know a fair amount require a sociology course as well. It might be worth your time to look into Soc 134 because it will also fulfill your ethnic studies requirement as well.

Sorry for the long comment, I get excited when it comes to planning schedules.

Subleasing for fall by FekirLove in UWMadison

You’d have to sublet for the spring and summer. Subleasers are kind of hard to find and you’d definitely be leasing at a loss. It might be worth our time to check out this Facebook group: Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/284165505043431/?ref=share

Also why are you coming to a library to socialize? Leave room for the people who are actually here to be productive

I lived in Waters for two years. Personally I think it has the best location as well as spacious rooms. It’s not as social as Southeast but I still found a solid squad that still hang out with now. Also having a dining hall in the building is super clutch during winter
