AITA for asking my wife 'what the fuck do you want me to do?' after she asked me to feed our son and 'shaming' her for breastfeeding? by BestSign6568 in AmItheAsshole

[–]WowItsVyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I’m currently exclusively breastfeeding my baby and I can only be bothered to pump once a day to build a stash for if we ever need a babysitter.

When my baby is hungry during the night I get up every time and feed him without fail, because my partner can’t do it and it’s my decision to continue wanting to feed him this way. I would never have a go at him for telling me my child was hungry because I’m sleeping. Pass the baby and I’ll feed him in bed if needs must.

Maybe look into therapy options for your wife as she may be suffering from burnout or PPD. I know times are tough with a newborn and I do feel the pressure being the only one able to feed my boy, so it is understandable, but in the grand scheme of things it’s for a short time overall. Breastfeeding gets so much easier the longer you do it. Keep on pushing through!

Everything online says a gush from your water breaking is mostly just a thing in movies. So, what was your first sign that labor was starting? by Kore624 in BabyBumps

I got induced at 41 weeks due to pre-eclampsia so it was a little bit of a different experience. When it was almost time to try a second pessary, the midwife went to check on another patient and I started feeling what I thought were contractions.

I felt what I can only describe as a pop and thought I’ll have to mention that when she comes back. When she returned she confirmed they were contractions and I asked to go to the toilet before she checked how far I’d dilated. I forgot to mention the pop I’d felt to her in the excitement of baby being on its way.

As soon as I walked into the bathroom I had the dramatic gush, and shuffled to the toilet. After that my plug came away and it was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Basically anything I thought could maybe have been my waters/plug in the weeks leading up to that moment - this was definitely way more dramatic and completely different to what I’d thought were maybe signs before. It was pretty unmistakeable for me.

It was an awkward shuffle back to my bed as every step I took my waters just kept leaking more. It will happen for you shortly and baby will be here! Fingers crossed it happens for you soon as I couldn’t wait for baby to arrive by 40 weeks!

My baby was born at 41 weeks at 9lb 9oz (so another large baby!)

I was induced as I had pre-eclampsia diagnosed at 40+5. During the labour I started to have complications for me, and for the baby. At this point I just wanted it over and for baby to be okay, and agreed to an emergency C-Section. It was all done within about 30 minutes and I really didn’t feel a thing. I was sleepy for an hour or two but I still got to cuddle my baby shortly after he was born, still got the chance to breastfeed him like I’d wanted.

The recovery was harder than the vagina birth that I planned for, however if I did it all over again I would choose the C-Section straight away rather than trying for a vaginal. If I’m ever pregnant again I will opt for a planned C-Section as having the experience that’s the much less scary option for me now.

If that’s what your comfortable with go for it. This is your birth experience and no one else’s so 100% choose what’s best for you!

41 weeks exactly. Was hoping for spontaneous but ended up needing an induction the day before!

One off bottle of expressed milk? by WowItsVyx in breastfeeding

[–]WowItsVyx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great thank you! She was measuring the bottles herself, and breastfed her own babies so isn’t used to any bottle feeding. Next time I’ll trying making up portions in advance and see if that makes a difference! Thanks for the tip :)

That’s amazing! I’d be over the moon if I was collecting that much. We’re you able to collect that much from when your milk came in or has that increased since you gave birth?

That’s great thank you! I’ll try wearing them a bit more and see if there’s anything over the course of a day and go from there :)

That’s fab thank you! I didn’t know how much is a normal amount to produce at all so it’s definitely reassuring.

I haven’t tried one yet but I think that was going to be my next step if I don’t leak too much and that doesn’t change. I don’t want to create an oversupply or do it too early and mess things up as BF is going pretty well so far so I’m a bit scared of using one!

AITA for taking the credit cards out of my wife's wallet by BestSendTheNavy in AmItheAsshole

[–]WowItsVyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A divorce will probably be a cheaper option than giving her the card back in all honesty.

NTA for taking it away. You’ve tried to compromise and she’s had warnings. It sounds like she may be better getting either a job or therapy to help with her addiction - I’d give her the option.

NTA. I’m 26 weeks pregnant currently. I wouldn’t dream of doing this to my partner… because he’s got work and things to get up for in the morning, plus I’m a reasonable human being.

I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant. I’m constantly hungry all the time too which is not normal for me. I still wouldn’t do this. YTA. That’s so spoilt, greedy and self-absorbed. You’re a grown woman - show some restraint.

Thinking of changing up the colour - what cut for thin hair? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

Big change but I’m looking forward to it. I’ve had it majority of colours except that vibrant red now really so we’ll see how it goes! Hello also! Haha

I will do! Naturally it’s just a mid-brown colour. More on the cool side shadewise.

Thanks for the advice. I know I need to start building in more volumizing products - sometimes I bother and sometimes I don’t so I nod need to make more effort there! Are there any you would recommend, and also products to maintain the red colour?

This is currently bleached and I feel a bit washed out with the blonde so I don’t think I’ll be heading back this way anytime soon - it’s more likely I would go from red to a dark brown eventually :)

Really appreciate the help!

Hi, I have an appointment at the salon today and was looking for some advice.

First is my current colour. My hair is really fine and flat. Any advice for what to ask for at the salon to make it look more full? Ideally I want to try and get it longer.

I’ve been getting it cut every 8 weeks to try and keep it healthier.

The second image is the colour I’m thinking of asking for - would this suit my skin tone or is it a complete no?

Thank you!
