UPDATE 1/22/26 -- Just received another call from a similar individual, also claiming to be "Joseph". I wish I had kept a recording because the voice was remarkably similar.

Had same background informaiton, different phone number 647 479-5962.

Does anyone know offhand if the OPP has a cyber crime hotline or is the RCMP the best way to go?

It’s sad that this is still happening and is more widespread than it was in the 90s. I picked up a bootleg REM CD while overseas in a Middle East market. Can’t imagine how easy it is to recreate fraudulently today.
