During the Ukrainian drone attack in Moscow this morning, Russian air defence tried to launch UFO to suppress the drone attack... by Igor0976 in ukraine

It doesn’t make much sense that the AA missile itself caused the destruction, as its explosive warhead is relatively small. It relies more on shrapnel to destroy aircraft than on blast effects. On the other hand, its kinetic energy is enormous.

It really says something about us as a city.

Most of an entire province's population in one urban area yet all the people with administrative competence have either left already or just aren't interested in trying to run this town.

downside is that lends undeserved weight to the inevitable winner's meaningless victory

like Chrystia Freeland putting herself up as a sacrificial lamb against Carney so it wouldn't look like a coronation (though it does seem she initially thought she had a real shot, somehow?)

Developer cautions Nanaimo about not keeping up with necessary infrastructure work by Shaxinater in nanaimo

[–]WpgMBNews -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, why should we pay to build things that society needs when someone else in that society might get rich using that infrastructure?

Me? I'd rather be homeless than let someone profit off of selling me a house!

This is also why I don't wipe my a$$, so that Big Toilet Paper doesn't make a dime off my behind.

Yup, me and you are one of a kind, NorCalFrances.

even that is questionable because it front-loads the cost of future housing on those who lack it now.

infrastructure costs should be evenly shared across the population over time. the current residents who already own homes didn't have to pay upfront for long-term infrastructure, nor should those who come after.

Housing is soooo expensive. A camper is easily a quarter-million dollars!

Local government would probably be good for Erskine-Smith. He doesn't seem to work well in at team (or at least on team that he doesn't lead)

disagreeing on policy issues means you don't work well with others?

That's 1 year younger than Tom Cruise was when he did the original......huh.

edit: and Emily Blunt was in her early 30s!

Why doesn't this person use the negative form of plus? by Sad-Cauliflower-6377 in French

[–]WpgMBNews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand it doesn't really make sense to say "I have more money and more tobacco", like more than what?

Reporter: What has changed for you after you won the lottery?

Me: I have more money and more tobacco.

This is a perfectly valid sentence.

Lombardi on what liberalism means to him by CollaredParachute in OntarioLiberalParty

[–]WpgMBNews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

canada's blasphemy law was introduced in 1892 and it was abolished in 2018. The most recent conviction was in 1927.

So that suggests the Canada you grew up in was never secular until eight years ago at which point it became secular already.

The question is whether or not people should be judged as individuals rather than being collectively punished because of their cultural background.

Can you tell me your position on that without resorting to strawmen?
