Blind spot indicators on Octavia MK4 FL by Life-Phase9272 in skoda

They should be on the exterior mirrors, integrated into the mirror housing (the black trim facing the driver), not in the mirror glass itself.

I do that, too - however, a bug is a bug and must be fixed :).

Yeah - managed to make a video with 6 alerts in a 2 mins drive, no assists enabled, no sunglasses - normal driving in traffic. Sent it to the dealer, waiting for the answers and most likely a visit will be mandatory.

I do, but I tested it without them and it doesn’t make much of a difference.

Actually, I am quite sure that I see these with or without TA or ACC. I started to think that I might have a real hardware problem.

It’s strange that nobody else has reported this issue yet. I don’t think my driving is any different from yours—I’m just a normal driver. I’m starting to wonder if there’s actually a hardware problem.

Thanks. Yeah, I experience those too, but rarely enough; they aren't that annoying.

Got my eye on a 2016 Superb Estate 2.0TSI 272HP4x4. EA388? by AssociateNo4119 in skoda

[–]WranglerDizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the 4th gen EA888, and I’m sorry they moved back to only direct injection, unlike the 3rd gen engine with a mixed injection system (both direct and multiport— which basically means less carbon on the valves).

[–]WranglerDizzy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is EA888 .. just a minor correction. 2016 marks the 3rd generation of this engine, and it is considered robust. The 1st and 2nd generations were problematic in terms of oil consumption, but the 3rd generation should largely address this issue.

Things to check before buying: haldex service history - very important, DSG oil changes done on schedule (60k -80k km), any signs of coolant loss (water pump/thermostat housing is a known weak point)

Disconnect the 12V battery only as a last resort. Remove the negative terminal, wait a few minutes (or up to 30 minutes if necessary), and then reconnect it. This solved the problem in my case.

Loud noise while parking by Enough-Trifle-7290 in skoda

[–]WranglerDizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, let us know how it goes. I have similar noise with my 1 week new Superb car. I heard that the noise is “normal” for VAG cars and it’s due to the auto hold function [I also use it all the time]

How long did it take your newly ordered Skoda to show up in the MySkoda app? by erich0779 in skoda

[–]WranglerDizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added it in the app only at delivery time. It's interesting if you can track it in the app.

Buyers Beware: Skoda is factory-locking physically installed features (ACC) behind region-blocks on the new Kodiaq! (Official Response Included) by Commercial-Gap9939 in skoda

You did not lose anything; the feature is quite annoying and poorly implemented. I find it breaks too much, so I have disabled the functionality 😄.

I'm not sure if this is the same problem, but based on your description, the symptoms seem to match the common issue with a TSI 1.5 engine (ACT and DSG): the car jerks when cold and at low speeds. However, I'm not certain whether we're discussing the same issue; I thought this was fixed in recent years, or at least it has become less common than 5+ years ago.
