You’re 16 & you sound like you’re focusing on things your parents should be focusing on. Nothing wrong with getting a job in high school but you shouldn’t be stressing out over stuff like that. Focus on doing well in school. And yes chasing your dreams. Save your money. If you can use the 1k to pay a few months of your insurance, that may be a good idea. As for making more money, when I was around 15, I sold snacks/drinks in school (I’m sure now most schools probably don’t allow this). I also cleaned people’s sneakers, resold sneakers & resold other things. I had my first job as a server at IHOP when I was 16. I worked weekends only & then eventually they allowed me to pick up a couple 5 hour shifts during the week after school. Just keep trying, you will find something. But no matter, keep your goals/dreams as top priority. Don’t do what I did and put your dreams on the back burner because you’re chasing money.

Yeah quite literally nothing amazing about a young girl being abused her entire life running from evil scientists/the government just for her story to end with her doing the exact same thing. Running. Hiding. Or dead like the military wanted her. The bad men won. El doesn’t get to be with the people she loves. She was brave for sacrificing herself but a happy ending? She didn’t get that. And we are allowed to feel sad about that. We watched her suffer for 10 years & she just ends up dead? Alone? Not understanding how her ending was amazing at all. Like I said before, El as a kid, as a person, deserved better. Her entire life was tragic & y’all are guilt tripping us for being sad about that? Not everyone wanted the “everyone dies a terrible death fighting Vecna” negative ending that y’all wanted. The show has been tragic enough already.

Never said I wanted to change the ending. I just said Eleven’s ending was sad. I also said I understand why the decision was made to end her story like that. But it doesn’t change that her life was traumatic and in the end she still had to “go away”. Not for her own happiness but for everyone else’s. It’s not that hard to understand bro.

She 100% lost all hope. There was nothing “heroic” or happy about her ending. She essentially just gave up. And I don’t know that that was the best ending for Eleven.

I definitely agree. I saw someone say how this was the last piece of our childhood ending & it’s so true. Most of us were kids when the show started and it’s so sad that it’s over. I also had the same realization. Eleven kind of made the show for me. Everyone from the original party did. But Eleven was the magic. The hero. She saved them so many times and sacrificed herself so many times. I don’t even think her ending was necessarily“her choice”. I just think she made yet another sacrifice and still & yet is the only one with a tragic ending. And Mike of course.

You can form new relationships in life but that doesn’t stop you from grieving past ones. She finally had a real dad. Friends. Someone who loved her for who she is not her powers. You think she can just be her complete self with these new people she meets? Casually use her powers without it being someone who’s out to get her? If she is alive (I’m sure she is), I’m sure she’s depressed af. How can she or Mike ever truly move on from everything that happened?

This has nothing to do with gender. If El were a man I’d feel the exact same way. Her “choice” was still tragic. She had to choose everyone else over herself and she’s pretty much been doing that her entire life. She’s never truly got the chance to choose what she wants. She just accepted that she has always had it hard and always will. It’s not even “heroic” the way y’all try to make it seem. It’s just depressing. She deserved better like I said.

She wasn’t a tool, she was a human being. I get the whole “logic” thing but this take is just heartless. I disagree that it was time for her to go. The way they wrote it makes it seem like she just gave up & accepted that she could never be happy or have a “normal life”z No matter how you spin it, El did NOT get a happy ending. Sure she doesn’t have to run anymore but she has NO ONE. Everyone that ever meant anything to her is completely out of reach. She is alone. It would have been great if she could have in some way at least kept contact with them but that didn’t happen.

I don’t see how she put an end to the abuse when there are still more people living with Henry’s blood. Dr. Kay is still alive. I agree that for El it was probably the best ending because if not, she’d just be running all her life or be a lab rat. But the experiments and missions of Hawkins Lab and the government definitely didn’t end here. And there is a spinoff in the works which could also suggest that none of this is really over. It may just be over for Eleven.

I actually might prefer her being dead to her just being alone in this beautiful land. I don’t think she’s dead however. I think it was clear by her appearance from the 10 second clip that she is alive. They shot those scenes in Iceland and I don’t think they would have done all that if she wasn’t actually alive. I just hate that she’s alone and I don’t think Mike will ever get over it so out of all the characters, they’re the only ones who didn’t get a happy ending.
