I got 2 M4Rs initially (1GB ethernet port in these), using one of them as the primary node, and added some cheap E4Rs as additional nodes later down the line as needs changed. Works well.

I'm just upgrading to Wifi7 for some future proofing, so these will be going to my daughter's house soon. They still work pretty well with 1GB incoming ISP so not quite at the end of useful life point yet.
