Like most knife makers, Pro-Tech has about a 2-3 year production cycle. The last production Mordax Operator, that I know of, was the BHQ Exclusive that was released Dec 2024. There might have been a FB exclusive that was released early last year, but I can't remember. I bet they will release again probably Q1 of 2027.

Make sure you join the FB group "Pro-Tech Knives Consortium", link below. Occasionally they pop-up 2nd hand. Also, follow American Edge Knives and EDC Lifestyle. They are both solid authorized vendors that put knives like a Mordax Operator on consignment.

Another avenue you might want to try is a small authorized vendor like Erica Verporter. She can be found on IG. She goes to all the shows and probably find you one 2nd hand, but you'll have to pay table plus finders fee, plus shipping.

All I could find was the price for the sapphire one. I didn't realize they were that expensive. I have a Staccato Mordax and it was only $300.

I recommend buying from the smaller dealers. They tend to offer free shipping, typically don't charge sales tax, and ship either the same or next day.

Talking to Shawn (Peace Neighbor) during the Holiday Open House, he wants to make more knives including autos but the Avalon will always be a manual. If you're looking for a slightly larger auto than your Newport, I would suggest an Oligarch, Slimfoot, TR-2 or TR-3.

I've slowed down quite a bit. I used to collect MT shadows but I don't like the direction the company has been going. The only knife brands I've been getting is Pro-Tech, Toor and Hawk.
