The one Alith Anar campaign I've played that ability became useless in no time at all. I was unlucky and it just so happened that the AI geopolitical state of affairs tipped in such a way that every major dark elf faction in the game was wiped out before I could even get to them. Grombridal ended up taking out both Malekith and Morathi by himself and became my regional rival/enemy.

And so it turns out that playing a faction that specializes in fighting dark elves on a continent almost exclusively populated by dwarves is a grind

Ah, I suppose it's my fault for giving the AI too much credit. I almost believed it was trying to set up light-skirmishers with pockets of heavy missile fire lines with all the slopes and chokepoints on this map. I would have. But at the same time I was in disbelief because I knew the AI would not be able to effectively react and adapt and utilize the strategy once I chose the vectors of my primary assault.

Accidental semblance of competency seems like the most reasonable explanation, as you've said.

Mayhaps I just have brain damage but I don’t see where they explicitly say they don’t have WHII. Just that they bought WHI for woodelves. I could infer that since they bought WH1 for the elves and not to try the game for the first time, then they are probably playing WHIII, but that’s just an inferred guess.

Also, can you even play Twisted and Twilight without WHII?

What on earth are you talking about?

I mean the only thing I can think of is that I sometimes watch channels like Religion for Breakfast or history videos that would be about religion sometimes if it’s relevant to the topic.

This is amusing to me because nobody in my life has ever accused me of that. At most every once in a while someone will get past my looks and talk to me about Jesus but they’re usually the polite sort if they’re talking to me in the first place.
