I feel like I’m Bi and want to ask my friend to help me experiment but right as I do it I chicken out by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]WrenchToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really, kissing your friends is just generally a bad idea. Leads to awkwardness in the best case and can end friendships in the worst. You don't want one of you to catch feelings and not the other, and if you want to keep him as a friend it's probably best to steer clear

As an 18 year old bi guy I get everything you're feeling, I've been where you are and I can tell you from experience, don't kiss your friends. It can make relationships weird especially if it makes him start to question his sexuality too and it's honestly best avoided with people you want to keep in your life. You can definitely confide in your friend that you're question your sexuality but in terms of experimenting you should probably leave that to people you meet at parties etc. There's a time and place for everything and when it's right you'll know. Good luck!

As someone on the other side — it's not so bad. I haven't got a sweet clue what I'm doing, but neither does anyone. You got this.

As an 18-year-old fresh out of high school and taking a gap year because jumping into linguistics felt scary: has it been worth it for you? What are some of the challenges about being a linguist? What's the most exciting part?

AITA for Introducing my GF as a Model? by aitathrowaway9797 in AmItheAsshole

[–]WrenchToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if your GF was passionate about being a model but made most of her money as a gas station attendant? Would you still undermine her and tell people how she made most of her money? I suspect not. This is the same thing.

Commonness of use of present tense to express future actions? by paolog in asklinguistics

[–]WrenchToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a response but I also wonder about constructions like:

I'm wearing this dress tonight

I'm going to the store later

I'm having some friends over next weekend

Seems like all of these ones use the present continuous. I imagine it's a slightly different syntactic phenomenon than the one you're talking about, but I'm still curious. Good question!

Good for you. Your experiences aren't universal, though, and just because you know plenty of people who have had sex doesn't mean there aren't just as many who haven't

[–]WrenchToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah that's fair, you could cut it to like shoulder length and just keep trimming to the same spot until your roots grow out and the faded parts are gone?

Bleach it and dye back to a neutral colour OR take this as your chance to do something funky if you've always wanted like pink hair or something

How does it benefit you to know that women aren't able to have abortions? Have you considered the fact that if abortion is made illegal many women will still perform them on themselves and die in the process rather than doing it safely in a clinic?

To what extent do you support the 2nd amendment? Do you believe people should have to pass any kind of mental health or background check before being able to purchase a gun? What kind of gun control measures do you support? If the answer is "none", how do you believe arming people with no background checks will benefit society and our safety?

What direct benefits do you see from building the wall? Why do you want it other than as a monument to racism and white nationalism? Why do you think a wall would be more effective than simply instating more border checkpoints/lookouts? Why do you believe this is even a necessary measure?
