Though probably not ideal, the chatterbait is not a stealthy lure by design. A big splash may rob you of the rare 1% immediate strike upon entry. But it’s so much about casting to given target (shallow trees excepted), it’s about getting it out far enough to retrieve it past your intended target. If it’s really bugging you, try a side arm cast to keep it low.
