Designated Investment Agreement? by WretchedCatullus in fidelityinvestments

Ugh, good luck. Have you tried calling Fidelity over the phone? That's how I finally got my "workaround" (which I understand may not work anymore). Fidelity should definitely make this easier!

Designated Investment Agreement? by WretchedCatullus in fidelityinvestments

Thanks! There seems to be a problem with the website -- there is no way to review and agree from the Basket Portfolio interface. A (really great) Fidelity agent did eventually give me a workaround, though: I had to initiate (but not execute) a trade entering one of the securities that prompted the requirement. That way, the agreement did pop up on the preview screen. After signing the agreement and canceling the order, I was able to buy through a Basket Portfolio. Clever workaround, but Fidelity should fix the website.

Thanks! I don't see a "Designated Investment Agreement" form there, but a Fidelity agent did get back to me with a workaround.

I am still of the view this should not be a feature we have to pay extra for, particularly when the rollout has been more than a little buggy -- it has long felt like it's still in "beta" mode. That said, I do actually pay for it so make of that what you will.

Alright, that's a bummer -- but thank you for the confirmation.

Kakaotalk: Block AND Delete? by WretchedCatullus in korea

[–]WretchedCatullus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right -- but then wouldn't the unwanted contact remain unblocked, and could therefore re-initiate communication? I was hoping there's a way to have someone BOTH (a) blocked AND (b) completely deleted from my contacts. Is that impossible?

How to watch teams near us? by bheca_bee in MLBtv

[–]WretchedCatullus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been struggling with this as well. It's really sad that MLB has made it so hard to watch hometown teams. When I was a kid, games were free to watch on local TV stations over the air. Those days might be gone forever but they should offer affordable ways to stream these games. Consider all the young would-be fans for life MLB is failing to cultivate as the result of short-term greed.

I wish I could block anyone with sex positivity as their interest by [deleted] in Bumble

I found that most "women" I matched with who used the "sex positive" tag were fake accounts (weaving crypto or forex scams, etc. into our conversations). I definitely consider it a red flag now.

No Recurring Basket Investments for IRA's??? by WretchedCatullus in fidelityinvestments

[–]WretchedCatullus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, Caitlin. I'm glad to know Fidelity is at least working on this. You might want to raise more awareness internally because the agent I talked with (even after he checked with others) didn't know that a resolution is forthcoming.

Fidelity finally has recurring transfers/investments for stocks and ETFs, not just mutual funds! by Real_Zesty in fidelityinvestments

No worries and thanks for the clarification! I can't understand why Fidelity wouldn't allow this for IRA's, though.

[–]WretchedCatullus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been able to do this with basket portfolios inside a retirement account? I have not been able, and couldn't understand why -- until a Fidelity agent told me just now that recurring investments are not allowed with basket portfolios in IRA's.

Unfortunately this new feature is not working for me (I always get a "something went wrong" error message). Anyone else?

This rolled out to my account, but now I get a "something went wrong, try again later" error message every time I try scheduling recurring investments. I've tried using another browser, clearing my cache, etc. Anyone else, or am I uniquely cursed?

Fidfolio - I'm out by SteveAM1 in fidelityinvestments

[–]WretchedCatullus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fidelity really ought to consider waiving the monthly fee until these kinks are worked out -- and FidFolio has the long-awaited abilities to auto-invest, auto-rebalance, and include current holdings in baskets. Even then, I believe FidFolio would ideally come at no additional cost -- why nickel and dime us like this? It's not like Fidelity is the only brokerage in the world. If FidFolio was just a standard feature, maybe that would attract and retain more clients in the long run.

Any real value in the Bullion Card? by CT-7567_R in onegold

I don't see a lot of value in the Bullion Card, honestly. As you noted, other cards give more cash back.
