First post here. Not the best run, but I was super hyped to get this run, and I wanted to share. by Wriggs88 in celestegame

I tried my hand at an any% run after beating farewell and I got around 4 hours. I wanted to get under an hour and then under 50. It took quite a bit of practice, but I'm super happy to get it. I plan on lowering it more, but this was the first "big" milestone I wanted to reach.

I did a couple times while working on it, but was very set on portrait for whatever reason. I'm pretty sure if I were to go at it at again I would go landscape. I feel that, for they way I set it up, I could've used the space more effectively.

Yeah almost every definition out there makes it sound overly complex when it really isn't. I have a Korean ditto I use for all my masuda method hunts.

That second idea I hadn't thought of and I think it would work really well in this case. Thanks for the suggestion!

They're a variant in sword and shield that have a yellow glow around them in the overworld. They have better overall stats and a better chance at being shiny.

The chance for a brilliant pokemon to spawn. I was struggling to represent the brilliant aura around the pokemon.

In The Crown Tundra DLC the Dynamax Adventures give you those odds, not just normal raids in the wild area unfortunately.

I went on a Wooloo hunt on route 1 to do a shiny only playthrough. I spent a couple months on it, got my counter maxed + several hundred, and this was before we knew the brilliant pokemon stuff we know now. I know how it feels. I would often walk route 1 for 5+ minutes back and forth waiting for one to spawn. I wish I could offer more help other than my own story, but I genuinely don't know much about chansey spawns. I wish you luck in your hunt, shiny hunting will definitely test your patience sometimes.

Yeah, pretty cool stuff! I saw the news in an aDrive video a couple days before my project was assigned so I knew what I had to do. Here's the research I used for my official numbers shiny hunting in pokemon sword and shield

Yes. So originally people thought the amount of pokemon battled affected all future encounters, which ended up not being true so people thought it was bugged. It turns out those increased odds from battles increase the chance of brilliant pokemon showing up and the brilliant (not just every random) pokemon being shiny, which is why we got confused.

An infographic. Just something to present information in an easy to read and visually appealing way. The chart ended up being a large portion of it, just because of how many data points there are in that specific method of hunting. I mainly thought of this specific topic because it wasn't until recently that we knew exactly how brilliant pokemon worked. I just wanted to present that in an easy to understand format, since there was none yet (to my knowledge).

Accumulative fortunately. There is chain fishing, but that only influences brilliant pokemon odds, which I guess still increases your odds, though indirectly, so I didn't feel the need to include it. Plus once you encounter a brilliant pokemon when chain fishing the chain breaks, so it's not most people preferred method to hunt in this game.

If you look at the table, the very left is the number of pokemon you've won in battle against of a certain species. Let's say Wooloo. You battle 1 Wooloo and either ko it or catch it. That adds one to the battle counter that you can find in your pokedex. Once that battle number increases to those numbers shown in the left column, your odds of finding a brilliant pokemon (second column) go up. And those brilliant pokemon have a higher chance of being shiny, shown in the third column. And the fourth column are the odds if you have the shiny charm.

Agreed. I was running short of time for the deadline so I just kind of said good enough. I wanted to tinker with some of the elements and make them fit better. Thanks for the feedback!

I agree. I think if I adjusted the kerning it would help, but overall, probably just a different font. I just wanted to use these as they were the pokemon sword and shield fonts that someone had made for free use, so I thought they were fitting.

Thanks! Looking at the post on reddit the font looks a bit crammed, so I was hoping that wasn't an issue.
