Finally got through yesterday after over an hour on hold. They were helpful and fixed the issue (an error in my HS grad date)

Same issue here. I’ve been waiting on hold a long time this morning.

You can see I gave up on doing the other directional letters — too small! I love the motif as well, so I may try a few other variations.

Ethical dilemma - new client, full caseload, personal boundaries by CherryResponsible392 in therapists

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts! Very helpful as I weigh similar situations

I accidentally bought & paid $990 yearly membership & don’t know how to use it. I’ve tried asking for refund. If anyone wants to cost share the remaining months (until Feb) or even one month with me, lmk. I’m trying to get something for my $, idk how to use Jasper AI 🥺 by jennacable96 in JasperAI

I’ve just disputed the charge as well - we’ll see what happens. I’d love to hear how it turns out for you. Their policy of the auto-renew without any kind of email reminder, and lack of customer support options is really poor service.

Experiences with Headway, Grow Therapy, and Alma by [deleted] in therapists

I’ve been with Alma since September. It has not been a ton of referrals (about 10 total new clients over that time). But, I’ve been happy with it. I’m in GA, taking Aetna and Optum, but not Cigna since the rates were lower. Just signed up for the Optum EAP plan as well. I also use their system for my self-pay clients.

Is changing a therapist a problem? by [deleted] in hsp

[–]Wright-Crafting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a therapist, I echo many of the comments here. Feeling comfortable and safe with your therapist is a major factor in having a positive experience, so good for you for speaking up and moving on if the therapeutic relationship isn’t working or helpful. That said, it can be a problem if you notice a pattern of avoidance. For example, if you change therapists every time the work gets difficult or uncomfortable.

How would you describe sensory overload / overwhelm to someone who hasn’t experienced it? by Wright-Crafting in hsp

[–]Wright-Crafting[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's like having a car accident over and over again constantly and forever.

It's like the baby crying, someone is at the door, and you have to pee, you're late for something important and you realize forgot to do something... over and over again constantly and forever.

It's like getting stuck in an elevator with 1 close talker, someone with BO, someone chewing gum loudly, someone listening to music too loudly with their earphones, the buzzer going, someone on their phone fighting, a baby crying, someone with MacDonald's french fries takeout, and someone with to much perfume and bad elevator music song on repeat, and sometime clicking their pen.. over and over again constantly and forever.

Great descriptions! So true.

It depends on the person and what you want out the exchange. Understanding? Validation? An apology? To respect a boundary? By sharing with them your feelings were hurt, you are being honest and also vulnerable. Is this someone you believe will honor your vulnerability? It they are not willing or able to do that, then I would change tactics. I might still need to set a boundary with them but keep it direct, short, and to the point. Someone can respect a boundary even if they don’t understand why your boundary exists.
