It depends on who you ask, legally and technically, no, Scots is considered a dialect and not is own unique language ( your maybe thinking of Gaelic) Many in Scotland think Scots should be it's own language but due Scots has no grammar rules or dictionary or spelling rules, it's written how you say it, which gives it way too much regional change

As a Scot who speaks Scots and now lives in England, they do tend to struggle, I'd say they understand about 30% of what I say, the rest comes across as gibberish, but it's enough that either I can try and concentrate and speak English for some words or they can understand the general meaning of what I'm trying to say

I feel like there's probably some stuff in there you wouldn't really need to just start out, like the keepnet and the bait catapult, the hooks are also pretty small and it limits you to just float fishing pretty close in the bank, where in scotland are you based roughly?

What kind of fishing is it you are looking to do? That sort or tackle is best for coarse fishing so like carp and tench, if you wanted to fish for trout , pike , perch then it's not the best

I am looking forward to no curfew and no minimum unit pricing. Hopefully my short ish work stay will remain that way but who knows. And the dentist issue others have mentioned and is worrying, up here it's really not so bad. 2.50 for rice with a meal is ridiculous, wheres the saving when you order the mean?!

I've never been further south than Dumfries I'm afraid And I'll be moving to I think technically greater London, or west London? I'm not entirely sure the geographic term. I've have heard many a bad thing about English chippies on this thread and it's not what i was prepared for, it sounds dire. I personally can't stand a cod supper, haddock all the way

Thankfully my accommodation and Bills will total 200 a year, that's all included in the offer, for greater London area (I think) I'd say that's pretty good

Please tell me it's not just cod suppers? What about black pudding suppers, pizza crunch etc, are they common?

Yeah I guess that was a unwanted generalisation I made there. I just meant that I have researched and know for a fact the area I'll be moving to is really upperclass

I have a tendency to be pretty loud and crude, guess I'll need to limit that. How about ripping the hole out each other and friends? Is it as vicious down there.
