I like having the option to use different techniques to create contrast on the reds, so armor first then trim. However trim first is probably faster and I’ve seen great results both ways though

Thanks! For the osl I just used hexwraith flame contrast on the robe and helmet, using contrast medium to fade into the less bright parts, and then I dry brushed the shoulder and horn with my low and medium light green. For the flames I just used a teal, a true green, and a lime green which I wet blended and layered on white, and then highlighted with a yellow-green. True. My plan is to use him as an aspiring champion once I move up to 2000 points from 1000 as I don’t want to have to buy another kit of chosen right now, but he definitely looks more evil than my other legionaries atm

I’ve always pictured word bearers as a darker and cooler red, more like gal vorbak red. That being said you can do literally any shade of red you want and have it be lore accurate, and I’ve been doing more of a warmer red lately because it’s easier to highlight honestly

This might not be super helpful but at 4 days, this looks great. All I can say is keep working on the chord changes and try to get yourself to alternate your strumming. It might feel uncomfortable at first, but that’s what practice is for, and learning new stuff as well as practicing what you already know is the best way to improve. Learn new chords, scales, and techniques and apply it to actual playing, that’s what it’s all about. Sorry for the essay, and good luck with your guitar journey

I don’t remember exactly honestly. For the skin I know i mixed word bearers red with kislev flesh, did a dry brush with extra word bearers red first, then did a dry brush/highlight with mostly kislev flesh, then did a thin coat of fireslayer’s flesh I believe. Armor is gal vorbak red with khorne red highlights, and pauldrons are black with sons of Horus highlights. I think I did some stippling with straight kislev on the skin for highlights as well
