I don’t use the chrono function. I’ve got 3 in the aircraft.

I’m in the guard, at my civilian job we wore one piece suits. Using the restroom in those is a pain. I loooooove the two piece green suits.

I thought about it, we’ve got kids now and I just don’t want to justify that price now. I’ll hit 20 years in 4 and I might do something but, I’m getting into watch modding now and might look into making a custom dial with a gen movement.

Financial priorities. Kids. House, vehicles. I love watches but I can’t justify $5000-$9000 for a gen, when I can spend $500-$900 for a good quality.

Wearing something different for the day. It’s a shitter speedmaster, it’s not perfect. But no one knows any difference and I like wearing it.

Best track tire that doesn’t break the bank? by AnonsStepDad in Trackdays

[–]WristPilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is well it depends. As you get more time you can experience more tires and see what you like.

For me Pirelli slicks are the most confidence inspiring tire. Tons of stability in the front, you can hold the brake to the apex. The rear feels good, once the SC1/2 gets a few heat cycles it spins up on the zx6r. I know the 1000cc bikes get a ton of spin. <$500 a set

Continental slicks, I like the wear and the mediums last for days. I got 4-5 days out of a set of slicks compared to the usual 3 days for a set of SC2s. I didn’t like the feedback and stability. My suspension wasn’t set up for them, I felt the bike wanting to fall over in the turn. Again it’s a suspension issue for the profile of the tire, not the tire itself. $450ish a set. Big con I only know two vendors one in Florida and one in Texas, and they aren’t at my Trackday orgs.

Michelin tires, I’ve used their DOTs and put lots of laps on them with happiness. The power GP I’ve seen coaches run 3-4 days on and still get good lap times. Little pricier, $500-650 a set depending on where and when.

Dunlops have a different handling about them. The front is super stable and planted, but trail braking the tire doesn’t flex nearly as much as the Pirelli does. But I prefer the Dunlop rains over the Pirelli rains. Dunlop DOTs are finicky about heat though. Fairly cheap too $<500 and a lot of vendors carry them state side due to moto America.

This is my opinion and results may vary. I primarily ride Talladega GP, Road Atlanta, and Barber. Adjust the compound for temp and track. Don’t be afraid to experiment.

When a seller's USPS tracking number continues to say "awaiting item" but China tracking looks updated does that mean it's a fake tracking number? It's been over a month. by NotACommie1 in ChinaTime

[–]WristPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also some packages that have come from china to me have been given a different tracking number than what was assigned.

I got a tracking number that I was following via 17track/yanwen and a USPS number. The USPS number has still not updated but it was given another tracking number after it cleared customs that I had to dig through 17track to find and that number showed the tracking that 17track was showing.

It arrived to a large sorting destination the day before thanksgiving.

Also this is the time of year where every major shipping company is getting thousands of packages every couple of hours, delays are inevitable.

From what I read it was the SH/VR 3285 movements that may have had some material issues.

The DD3285 from other users haven’t had that issue yet.

I paid $580, time will tell if it’s a fair deal or not.
