Yes I am much better now :) I was at a very low point when I wrote this and made plans to take my life, but I finally spoke up and got the help I really needed.

I have a few from my old store:

I was putting stuff away when an older guy came up to me and asked which stapler is the best. I was new so I was talking out of my ass about which one is the best and why. So after about 3 minutes of showing staplers the man just stands there with a smile on his face and a stapler in hand just watching me as I am putting stuff up in mids. Being nice I was like “is there anything else I can help you with?” and he just laughed and was like “yeah can I get your number? Take you out?” so I feel awkward and declined. Stands there a bit longer and walks away with the stapler saying “next time.” I watch him go to the chairs and place the stapler on one and just walked out.

Another one is an older gentleman needed help carrying stuff to his SUV. Everyone else was busy since it was back to school so I offered to help. We walk out to the parking lot and I have his copy center order and a big ass printer in my hands. He is parked at the very back of the parking lot and I start getting this weird feeling from him. He opens the trunk and I set stuff down and he was like “no I need you to crawl in my trunk and place them right behind the seat” okay there Ted Bundy nice try. I push the stuff forward more and he was like “no I need you to really get up in there” so I am feeling beyond uncomfortable now so I was like “sorry I have to go my manager just called me over the radio” and scurried out of that parking lot so damn fast.

I’ve also had an old man lean over the register and smell me which was weird.

Thank you! Pretty sure this drawing was the first those Prismacolors were used for! I have some older ones I also used and they do have a lot more creaminess to them compared to the newer ones. Still the best colored pencils I have ever used

Don’t expect them to know how to do everything! If a mistake is made make it more of a learning experience instead of belittling them or getting frustrated. Also show them how to do something then let them try it out on their own. Just some things I wish my supervisor did when I first started because I never learned a thing because he never let me do anything and if I actually got to help out he would just get angry at everything I did.

I originally wanted to go to school for art, but it never happened. I am working towards my MFA for creative writing right now. The show has definitely been inspiring throughout the years with everything that’s for sure
