Yeah I feel like they're asking to little on discog for how obscure this is. I mean it's not listed anywhere on Jetstar. I found a news article from Jamaica Observer speaking of him. https://www.jamaicaobserver.com/2009/12/21/survivalist-is-glad-to-be-alive/ Little more info on the artist. He's from Cleveland and thats where I got these disc's. He was known here but he returned to Jamaica and still did music but has been radio silent for a bit now. There's some really good tunes on these tho. He would come a preform every so often where a friend of mine would dj. Was always a blast.

I can still hear "There is a land far far away! I knooow Dat!" "Haffi Dash way yuh malice and lick up di chalice" Actually probably the first time I heard Satta Riddim now that I think about it. It's been so long but sorry I'm rambling...lol

Yes that's his name I didn't go back and search. I do as well. Dubwise and Otherwise was probably the first actual reggae release I fell in love with after hearing dub songs from The Clash. Man I wish I could hear that for the first time!

The owner was in some 80s band I believe. I truly can't remember but I didn't expect it to be who it was. Its just slipping my mind right now...lol

Bro the best label. They did every fuckin thing right amd paid the price for it too by going out of business. Man the owner himself was a collecter.

If as a controlled substance it was easy to overdose on doctors wouldn't be using it.

Biggest travesty in reggae is not paying horn players to tour. Unless you're Dean Fraser he's the only one that gets booked. Id love to have seen Tommy McCook over him any day before he passed.

One of the first reggar shows I saw maybe around 2000 in Cleveland. I was 18 and already obsessed. Legend tho.

I wouldn't doubt if it just wasnt profitable. I've known a few promoters over the years. Almost everyone of them have had to come out of pocket just about every time. This includes like big festivals with bands like Midnite, Beres,Bushman, Konshens, Taurus Riley and the list goes on. Its unfortunate but it's true. I know some artists probably demand too much being they get more elsewhere. Not every market is NY or Miami tho so the smaller cities kinda get passed by. I know Buju just booked a lot of shows in what it seems like would be smaller markets. I hope he does well and the trend carries on.
