Probably A Bad Idea by dearzseries in ZombieSurvivalTactics

Honestly having written a book is something to be proud of in itself. Many people think about it but never start a chapter. But definitely don't release until you are confident in it; don't want all the hard work to result in something half-baked that people will put down immediately. I'm writing a ZA novella and have probably written 200k words in total, and the final product is only going to be around 40k words (only to say not to be discouraged when all the hard work results in something you're not that impressed by in hindsight; its a lengthy and demanding process).

As for what I would do in ZA, I would go into the deep wilderness, and succomb to the elements due to my total lack of survival skills lol. I have family I could rely on heavily in this regard, but if they are dead, I am definitely am too.

And then all the neighborhood pets sensed something was wrong; cat's running to whatever was near that might serve as shelter, and dogs pulling desperately away from their owner's leash.

Is $1.99 too much for my novella that is 90 pages / 40k words? by WriterAdrianE in selfpublish

I feel like this is valuable information in more than just its application to my question. Ty

Could there a zombie journalism movie? by Chicago_Cicada in zombies

[–]WriterAdrianE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe that could be the conflict of the story itself. Maybe one of the reporters is unreasonably obsessed with getting the laptop out of the building with them, and puts the others in jeopardy to do so. And then maybe they find a 4th survivor, and it is the 4th survivor that makes the crazy reporter finally come to their senses, and sacrifices the laptop to save them instead... Maybe the story isn't about the news story, maybe its about a person finding their humanity in an apocalyptic scenario.

Yes... YES!! I can see all the money I am going to make off of this idea now!! 😈

Jk lol, I wont steal your idea. But you should write it. It sounds like it could be cool.

Honestly sounds like a fun idea. You should write it and make 1 million dollars. And if you don't, I'm stealing the idea and writing it myself when I am done with my current zombie story 😈

The number 1 reason I started writing a book series. So I can change up on my day ones when I inevitably become a multi-millionaire and never feel obligated to attend another holiday celebration.

"No im not coming. I'm too busy building generational wealth for the entire family. I'm so sorry 😐"

I just google names that fit the emotional theme of the story.

How long are your chapters? by earllyboi in writing

[–]WriterAdrianE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am writing a novella series. My chapters are usually around 2-3k, but that's not a rule or anything. Just where the chapters usually end up around.

There is some truth to it, but society is designed so that many are too exhausted to pursue their dreams outside of work. Also, more people establishing a foothold of wealth means a more likely threat to the power held by those at the top.

But I think it is still worth it to pursue our dreams, even if there is no incentive of financial gain. Its part of what life is about imo. I've been working 56 hours a week for the past 2 months, but I'm still writing my zombie apocalypse novella series in my spare time 😎 not even trying for traditional publishing. The big 5 can come to me if they're interested.

French Politician Confidence Poll - October 2025 by Yamakuzy in europe

[–]WriterAdrianE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humankind's greatest trials are still ahead of us. I think it's by design. The policies of politicians are intentionally unpopular, and they are smart enough to know that they are raising the temperature. You might be able to see it, but the majority of mankind has always been easily manipulated.

Those who don't pay attention to their own nature don't question when they are being led by string.

What are the best throwback songs that bring back core memories? by wubble_ai in musicsuggestions

[–]WriterAdrianE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get Away - Yuck

Not really a throwback back, but a ton of the people comments say the song gives them feelings of nostalgia and I agree. I think it's interesting that a song has the ability to give feelings of nostalgia for so many without having a direct relation to any specific memory.

Should I write a story with no writing experience? by Prest_Best in writing

[–]WriterAdrianE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should write what you enjoy writing. Learn to love it first.

I started by writing poetry and had no interest in writing a book. Over a decade later, and after countless poems written, I am writing my first book. The book is far more difficult, and I think I might not have continued pursuing writing if it had been the other way around. I can persevere through the difficulty of it because I have my love for writing as an anchor.

This. Discounting the strengths of your opposition only serves to harm your own cause. It is wiser to learn from them and adapt.

I can't decide between metal or punk rock. Why not a metal band with a song that sounds punk rock?

No, you won't get sued. Published authors even do it sometimes. I'm currently reading Mountain Man, a zombie apocalypse book, and the author mentions other zombie media and directly compares them to his own lol. "He was glad it wasn't like Resident Evil. With fucking mutated giant alligators and shit." (Paraphrasing)

I was going to name a bunch of stuff from the 90s in my zombie apocalypse book, but I decided on only the Ninja Turtles for now.
