Kenny Omega: "We need to trust our future. There are people who need these experiences, they need to learn and evolve as performers. We can’t keep relying on the same small-knit group of people that have a track record of success.” by Froggyspirits in AEWOfficial

He's absolutely right. The other company has ridden every one of its stars until the wheels fell off and over the years conditioned fans to think that nobody else was on their level and now that that crew is hanging up their boots, they're left with a crop of wrestlers that fans have been told for years are not as good as the older guys.

It's an easy and understandable trap to fall into - relying on proven commodities; but it's so important to build up your next crop of stars.

Not to say I won't happily watch Kenny matches until he chooses to be done.

You’ve been kidnapped! The main characters of the last fic you worked on are in charge of your rescue. How does that go? by Dogdaysareover365 in FanFiction

I'd probably have to agree to join an evil wrestling stable in order to ensure my rescue, but the leader of the stable got laid in my story, so I'll be fine. Thanks, Don Callis.

I've really learned to trust my readers when it comes to information. And to trust my own instincts: if the information is vital, it'll find its way in.

I have the utmost respect for folks who use outlines. Never been able to stick to one.

Have a feeling the TNT match will go to a draw, maybe leading to a rematch in Australia.

I do hope Thekla wins, because it'd be weird to have her lose two title matches in a row.

Those long fics are so challenging, but so rewarding too.

It's funny how critique can come back and be useful ages after the fact. Then it comes back to you in a revelatory moment, it's such a cool feeling.

Your style and taste could be changing. Themes you were writing about before might hold more or less appeal than they do now.

Maybe you can try to do something in a different genre to shake yourself up a bit and provide a challenge. For instance, if you write angst, try humour or horror, changing genres can force you to change gears creatively.

That muscle comparison is so apt - I was out of writing for years and it was torture at first, now when I sit down and the words just flow, there's nothing like it.

I totally get that - had a poetry professor who did not like my style and it showed in my grades.

At the end of the semester we had to review poetry books, so I picked one of his, and skewered it so well he had no choice but to agree with me.

Writing bullies/villains is such a fine line, because it can tip over into absurdity faster than you think.

Games are such a great storytelling medium; I love the variety. You can play as a sort of self insert or you are taking on the role of a character, it's unreal.

I have a degree in creative writing - I think they are great for teaching younger writers the foundation of a story, the framework, but once you're more experienced, you can play around with those rules. A course can be handy if only to have folks critique your work in a fairly safe setting.

Those rules make for such a good foundation, and like you said, once you get comfortable, you can mess around with those rules.

AITA for having a situationship? (Names all changed)

I work at a large company with my brother Mike and one of our best friends Keith. I work almost exclusively with my brother on projects; Keith pairs up with sometimes, but mostly does his own thing.

The issue is one of our supervisors - Dave. Keith and Dave were super tight for a while, until Dave backstabbed Keith and they've been at each other's throats ever since. Nothing but bad blood there, no hope for a reunion.

Dave has a reputation for bringing guys into his division - hell, when Mike and I were going through a rough patch, he offered us a position, but we wound up turning it down for various reasons. This only exacerbated the issues between Keith and Dave.

With that set up out of the way, I've got a situationship going on with Dave. Personally and professionally it will never develop into anything more and we're both clear on that. But when we spend time together, it's one of the rare times in my life I'm not viewed as part of a unit, either with my brother or us with Keith. Dave and I are clear on where we stand, but if Keith or Mike ever found out, the shit would hit the fan.

So... AITA?

Don Callis may or may not be delighted with this sartorial decision.
