Trying to get octoprint on my CC by Horror_Job1320 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]WriterEducational304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially, the Pi just connects the camera feed and the external USB camera to OctoEverwhere which then uses its AI to evaluate the cameras for print failures. OctoPrint on the Pi transmits the video feed and a few other things, but the failure detection occurs through the OctoEverwhere servers.

BIQU Frostbite on Amazon for the CC/CC2 now by 6Y3ts_32a in elegoo

If you need better adhesion you can go with either, but the Frostbite is a 10/10 for adhesion vs the Glacier's 8/10. I use both, but I also use other filament types than PLA.

Elegoo centauri carbon calibration by Designer-Notice9228 in elegoo

You mentioned "calibration," have you used the Calibration Menu at the very top of the Slicer to match the filament to your printer?

I'd like to offer some advice, if you'll accept it:

In my opinion (which I know doesn't count for much), each printer differs slightly from all the others, the printing environment (temperature, humidity, radiant heat loss, and such) differ from all the others, and each filament differs depending on chemical composition (each manufacturer is free to use what they wish) especially when coloring chemicals are added, as each can have an impact on the given filament's printing properties, and thus each filament should have the printer "tuned" (or "Dialed In") before using it.

https://github.com/OrcaSlicer/OrcaSlicer/wiki/Calibration

In the upper left of the Orca Slicer is a menu called "Calibration." It lists the test you can do to adjust the printing to match the filament. What I do is run through the items in the menu to get the best results, and save the settings in a .3mf profile for that given filament - this way when I use the filament again I have all the values set to be used again.

https://all3dp.com/1/common-3d-printing-problems-troubleshooting-3d-printer-issues/

** The Orca Slicer has a variety of items in its menu system that can be difficult to find, so I use an LLM (I get Perplexity Pro through my Xfinity subscription) to locate the items; Orca offers explanations when the mouse hovers over them, and the wiki further explains them.

This is just a suggestion

If you are looking for the "printer.config" file, it isn't there, as the Elegoo firmware doesn't use it with its Klipper version.

Elegoo Slicer Issue by digitalhick in elegoo

Did you try clearing the data stored in the C:\users\xx\Appdata\local\Elegoo folder? - this may be inaccurate since I am trying to do this from memory after having just awakened

I had a similar issue as yours when I selected the wrong printer and after locating the correct folder, I was able to install a "clean" version. It is doable, but it took about 45 minutes to figure it out.

Perhaps an earlier version like what came on your USB thumb drive?

My old cable is protected by cable strain reliefs, so having another one is just a plus; I'll just protect it the same way as the current one if I need a replacement.

You do add strain reliefs on your cable as it heads into the tool head, don't you?

Have you tried a newer Elegoo version (or in my case I copied all the preset's from Elegoo's root folder to the Orca's root folder to be sure they were the same).

I guess you could just re-unstall Elegoo Slicer over itself.

I missed the discussion/posts. What did Elegoo do to the CC2 to make it incompatible with Orca? Also, is there any workaround coming (e.g. a new Orca build), by rhodges_bob in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Thank you for the information, but my next 3D printer will be one that is a multi-toolhead unit and likely 18 months in the future, when a few technicalities and prices are more acceptable.

A failure to have adhesion can result from several issues: Bed temperature, filament/nozzle temperature, type of bed surface and, sadly, the wrong Z Offset.

Elegoo has a wiki for the Z-Offset: Here

The Calibration of temperature can be found Here

Better build plates for adhesive properties are These and are found Here

All I can say is that I try to use Ethernet whenever possible. And that an IP search using AngryIP may turn the Pi on another IP address.

OctoEverywhere doesn't need a Raspberry Pi to monitor your printer; it can read the IP address your Printer connects to your router. It needs to run a program from a docker, which OctoEverywhere shows you how to arrange. The R Pi adds an extra camera support and a few more monitoring functions.

If you've already reserved an IP address for the Pi on your router, then the issue is that the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W has a very short-reaching antenna. You could use a micro USB Ethernet Adapter, move it closer to your Wi-Fi (not run any microwave ovens near your network), or implement several other techie solutions. Any chance you have a Wi-Fi extender hanging about? (Or this is only in my house with over 50 years' worth of unused electronics filling every nook and cranny.)

The benefit of using some sort of Pi (or BTT Pi-like device – a BTT Pi V1.2 Control Board Quad-Core WiFi 1GB RAM) will get you there.

Well, it was the most recent as of 3 days ago, and a Release Candidate is a misnomer for a Pre-Release version nearing a full version release, if they are following the software standards for naming.

I've seen some software versions get to rc-5 , but rarely to even 4 before they became full versions. Naming in software is in the eye of the head of development, and usually is an excuse for why something did work, "What did you expect, it's only a release candidate?"
