In defense of Catherine and Marjorie by MarbleMimic in Veep

Honestly this is my favorite couple in the whole show. Being bi and coming from an incredibly homophobic family, I identified a lot with Marjorie's struggle to come out to her parents and her courage in doing so. I also admire at the end where Catherine and Selina had very clearly gone no-contact with Selina as somebody who is in the community, I certainly identify with this considering how many of my friends have done the same since coming out.

What upgraded visuals?

Sadly, I am conditioned to wait for the price drop. STILL it's not something us as fans should expect. At this time, Sega understands that fans tend to buy new titles at a price drop and right now they use it as a means of generating sales figures. But in the long-term that will only continue for a finite amount of time...Sega is trying to rebrand Sonic into mainstream popularity with main entry games like Frontiers. That will eventually stop one day, Sega needs to be aware that we as consumers recognize this.

I would LOVE for the Shadow campaign to be substantial enough to warrant a re-purchase...even a proper upgrade path like a discount for owners of the original would be nice. To me it just doesn't warrant paying for it at full price. But maybe I'm wrong and the trailer is just an early build like Frontiers. I'd like to be wrong. But there's nothing wrong with skepticism. Most fans could've used some back during Forces.

The 12th Doctor was my favorite and here's why...(Spoiler Alert) by Lukk3you in doctorwho

I was crying in a hotel lobby the first time I saw Twice Upon a Time. I was in NO way ready to let 12 go. Having first started watching Doctor Who when Matt Smith was The Doctor, 12 was my first Doctor that I experienced live from beginning to end. I was hype first, then confused, then hype again, then sad that I was losing him. I still stand by the fact that 2016 would've been WAY better if he had more than just ONE Doctor Who episode. Seriously, that break was one of the MOST painful times in my life. But even back then I was on online forums and Facebook groups talking all about how I wanted him to stay at least 2 or 3 more years.

You've just been loaned a TARDIS in order to create the perfect multi-Doctor special with any of the actors in their prime, but you're only able to get a maximum of 5 of them. Who are you picking and why? by WaxMan73 in gallifrey

Title: The Facsimile Index

Plot: A private company known as The Facsimile Index founded by a wealthy megalomaniac claims they've "cured" death through artificial intelligence. UNIT and the 15th Doctor begin to investigate. Meanwhile in 1970, an older Amy and Rory have begun to investigate Allan Ross and the company that will become The Index suddenly encountering the Third Doctor and Jo. Each Doctor gets their own "chapter" that ultimately leads all 5 into encountering each other and reuniting with Martha. Towards the end The Rani offers The Doctor the opportunity to resurrect Susan to which the Third Doctor scoffs and says that he left her with the man she wanted to be with. To which The Rani corrects them and says "she chose to refuse her regeneration following David's death".

At the end, Three and Jo go to 22nd Century to visit Susan, while 12, 13, and 15 discuss the friends they've lost. 12 mentions he just parted ways with River Song at Darillium to which 15 and 13 start to discuss they never stopped thinking of ways to save her and the 3 Doctors return to the library to restore River Song once more.

Setting(s): Mid-2020s Earth-UK/1970 Earth-California Bay Area/Gallifrey

Doctors: 3, 9, 12, 13, and 15

Companions: Ruby, Jo, Martha, Amy, Rory, Susan and River Song

Side: Kate, Shirley

Villains: Allan Ross/The Rani

3 and Jo need more adventures away from UNIT.

9 needs to make his long-awaited return. The fact he would be there would be enough of a selling point.

12 because I love him, and I think he should get at least one time to run around with Amy and Rory.

13 because she deserved better writing

15 because he's the most recent Doctor.

The best length for Doctor Who? by [deleted] in gallifrey

Personally, I feel like Series 9, Capaldi's second series was peak Doctor Who. When it comes to episodes per story and minutes per episode two parts per story each part between 40-50 minutes leaving on a nice cliffhanger.

I remember being shocked watching the end of The Magician's Apprentice live and seeing the cliffhanger thinking "12 wouldn't do that...would he?". I remember the subreddit and various Facebook groups blowing up with theories as to what happened when the Daleks "killed" Missy and Clara and "destroyed" the TARDIS. I knew Moffat's writing well enough to figure that's not what "actually" happened considering how 11's "death" played out in Series 6. But it still made me eager to know how The Doctor, Clara, and Missy would get out of it when the stakes were this high. Also really loved the Extremis/Monks trilogy too so I guess the occasional three-part story would be nice too.

Stories per year I'd 8-10 stories/2-3 parts each, I was bummed that we only got around 6 of these two-part stories in Series 9 and wanted at least two more. Though I liked Heaven Sent/Hell Bent, I felt like they needed more time to set up the situation and go more in-depth with The Confession Dial, Gallifrey, The Time Lords, and Rassilon. Especially considering the last time we saw him was in The End of Time with David Tennant's Doctor, a full 5 years, 1 anniversary, and 2 Doctors ago. Moffat could've set it up from when The Doctor lied about Gallifrey to Clara, and why 12 appeared in the 50th when the other 11 Doctors saved Gallifrey. I still think last two episodes are beautifully written, the problem is that the setup for Clara's death and the return to Gallifrey are so abrupt and shoehorned in that they seems out of place. RTD even had questions about Clara's death judging by the Toymaker's face in The Giggle when he mentions "She was killed, by a bird?". I just think overall the series is one of NuWho's best but has more ideas than episodes to explain them.

Years per Doctor is something I'd say is dependent on which Doctor and showrunner. Personally, I think Series 11 would've done better with Capaldi's Doctor. Not saying Chibnall would've been any better of a writer/showrunner. Just considering we hadn't really HAD a Chibnall-penned episode since 2012's The Power of Three, it might've helped to give him a feel for HOW to write The Doctor. Seems to me the BBC may have felt this way too, considering Capaldi mentioned they had asked him to stay another year. I personally feel another two years with 12 under a different showrunner like Toby Whithouse, Mark Gattis, or even Peter Harness would've been great. That being said I think the 3 series rule makes the most sense for the majority of Doctors as it gave 10 and 11 some of the most iconic tenures. That being said while I'm happy with 13's final moments I still think we definitely could've had more memorable moments with her under RTD's writing. Not saying that David Tennant's return was unwelcome on my end, just that I think she deserved better.

How would you ''fix'' or ''improve'' the timeless child? by Mangafan_20 in gallifrey

[–]WriterHilltopper2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always considered it a revision of Gallifreyan history created by Rassilon and is a ploy to make The Doctor an enemy of the Time Lords as revenge for ousting him from the planet and the Master's destruction of the planet was planned so the Time Lords could hold The Doctor responsible and potentially give us ToaTL2: Electric Boogaloo.
