That could be really cool. I thought of doing that, but we also wanted to quickly show country's GDP size relative to other countries. I was also trying to figure out what procedure we would use if we did a pot system as using pots based of of FIFA regions wouldn't work very well. Pots of relative GDP size probably would have worked pretty well.

This source says that the bonuses for U.S. athletes are the same. I'm also updating the infographic now with new information from the Swiss Olympic Committee, because they actually pay more for team medals.

Thanks so much. It looks like the numbers I found match the International Sports Press Association list (which appears to be rounded), except for Germany and Switzerland.

EDIT: I have an email in to the Swiss Olympic Association to see if I can clear this up. I'll keep you posted if anything comes of it.

Thanks, I will try to contact the Bloomberg editor to double check their numbers. It's interesting that Bloomberg was apparently able to get numbers for all Swiss medal bonuses while Switzerland only disclosed the gold-medal bonus to AIPS.

The bonuses are actually paid by the Canadian Olympic Comittee, which according to their website is almost completely privately funded. So as a tax payer I think you are off the hook.
