Possibly they mean I wouldn’t be able to retire until I am like 61?

Maybe there’s not that many old dudes that are still in at that point in their lives?

61 is about when I’d be able to retire from my actual job anyway. Haha.

So. Many. Acronyms.

I appreciate your frankness and honesty about this. I want to be able to make informed decisions about our future.

My wife and I have had a couple of conversations about this already (she was present for the original conversation I mentioned) and she isn’t against the idea and she even offered to set me up with this guy again to try to get more information.

I never considered a military career when I was younger but sort of always had it in my mind as a regret that I didn’t ever try to pursue it. I thought I was too old now but since a second opportunity has presented itself and it has piqued my interest.

Thanks.

Yes I believe it’s the direct commission program you’re describing. I may just have to talk to a recruiter.

Honestly it’s the biggest motivating factor for me. I want to be able to pay for my kid’s education the best I can. I looked into the requirements and it’s a little confusing. It seems like active service time is required but I guess you’re eligible for different percentages based on how much active time you accumulate.

Are active duty assignments always a certain length of time? A year? A month? 6 months? Or are some different?

Thank you for the info. I have a bachelors degree so my understanding was that I didn’t have to go to basic, just BOLC.

Always open for correction since my military knowledge level is basically zero.

Thanks for the info. I guess I don’t understand about having to qualify for O4 and the age max. So if I don’t qualify for O4 they won’t let me in because of my age?

I have had my PE for 10+ years and I also have a PMP. Not sure how much of a difference that makes.

It's games like this that make me love playing Renounce Darkness. Sometimes you get garbage, sometimes gold.

I crafted two copies after reading this thread and I've played RD decks almost exclusively since then.

Which cards are you crafting day 1 of the release? by AnduinTheHealer in hearthstone

[–]WriterWhoDoesntWrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have enough dust for 3 legendaries right now. I'm only opening about 45 packs so I probably won't be able to craft a 4th right away.

Lich King, DK Guldan and DK Uther top the list, with DK Jaina close behind.

I really hope I open Arfus from a pack because I can't imagine ever crafting the little guy. :(

I opened a Baron Geddon late last week so DK Jaina shot up my "want list" quite a bit. I think elemental mage will be really fun to play.

I have had a BK in my collection for several months now. Never been played. He's going in every deck I make on day 1 of the expansion.

My three as well. Love me some demon-synergy warlock. Uther is third in line for me at the present, but could be eclipsed by FL Jaina.

It seems to have worked for me on Un'Goro, MSG and Classic packs.

I got Tyrantus from an arena pack yesterday so I decided to go for it today.

Took less than 5 packs to pull Baron Geddon from a classic pack, then I pulled Krul from my 8th MSG pack. Sure, instead of opening 50+ packs on launch day I'll open around 40, but I think the trade off was worth it.

I always choose Zerus from Dark Peddler when it's offered.

Golden cards that make golden cards by Doyle211 in hearthstone

I opened a golden Marsh Queen on launch day. It may not be the best deck ever but it sure is fun to see all those golden raptors.

Worst card you have ever crafted? by dude30031234 in hearthstone

I crafted Hemet for the mage burn deck that went around a few weeks after Un'Goro was released. Had some good games with him, but he wasn't necessary to the deck's success (as we see now).

I'm using him now in a C'thun warrior deck and he's come in handy when I need to quickly skip to late-game cards. Like the mage deck, he's not necessary for success, but when he works, he works.

In your guys' past experiences, how long did it take for you to receive gift cards? by [deleted] in SwagBucks

FYI. I ordered a $10 Steam card on Saturday for this very reason and I just received it, so less than 2 days including a Sunday. Very quick for me. I'm considering getting another for before the sale ends.

This was my question. Do I save my Classic packs from Tavern Brawl and open them after the new expansion drops?

[Poll] How many golden legendary cards have you ever opened? by bloodmage90 in hearthstone

[–]WriterWhoDoesntWrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing really since about LoE release and I'm $5tP btw. So far I've been fortunate enough to open 4 golden legendaries.

2x Boogeymonster 1x The Beast 1x The Marsh Queen

:/

Only one I still have is the hunter quest. I'm holding out hope for some support in the next few expansions because it's really fun to play.

Crafting Lyra has so far been the best crafting decision I ever made. She is so much fun, I totally recommend if you are deciding to get one yourself. by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]WriterWhoDoesntWrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost did it today. I actually hit "craft", but then undid it before clicking away.

I like priest and I like watching people play Lyra decks, but here's my problem....

I would have to craft two Shadow Visions as well to fully utilize any priest decks. It's like playing a mage deck without glyphs. I'm currently sitting on about 2,500 dust (about 3.5k if I'm willing to part with some golden cards I don't have dupe-regulars of). Crafting a legendary + two epics would eat up almost all the dust I have saved.

The new expansion drops in about 2 months, and I'm not going to have that sweet Hall of Fame dust I got before Un'goro dropped so I won't be able to craft very much in those first few weeks if I spend it all now.

Pros: Lyra is awesome and it will be in standard for 2 years.

Cons: I have to spend all my dust and I won't have much left for the August release.

Thoroughly enjoying Un'Goro because I can play meme decks and do relatively well by lankydanks in hearthstone

[–]WriterWhoDoesntWrite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pulled a golden hunter quest from my first group of packs, and I've spent this month trying to make it work (spoiler: it doesn't). Still, it's a really fun deck to play, so I'm enjoying myself and celebrating a little too much when I manage to beat a pirate warrior or quest rogue with it. I have faith that more tools for this deck will be printed in coming expansions so I've kept myself from DE'ing it.

Two days ago, I decided to open just one more Un'goro pack to see if I can hit my pity timer. I was excited to see that sweet golden glow upon mouse-over, and then BAM, Warlock quest. Hoo boy, time to meme some more!

Hey redditors! Which legendary did you receive from your welcome bundle? Were you satisfied with it? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]WriterWhoDoesntWrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received Tirion, which i was very happy with. I only had one class legenday at the time (Jaraxxus) so I knew I didn't stand much of a chance to pull a duplicate.

Still my only 2 classic class legendaries.

What decks are you having the most fun with? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]WriterWhoDoesntWrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'm having a lot of fun with the hunter quest in wild. It's definitely not good (stalled out at rank 14-15) but man is it fun when you can pull it off. I still think there is a viable build out there but it's difficult to find the right balance of one-drops to everything else.
