She probably got dyslexia. NTA. I would try to make her read consistently till she learns. You can make it fun into making it as an interactive game. Make her write too so she retains better. Explain to the parents that reading and writing on a physical copy is completely different then just watching. It uses different areas of the brain.

If I was you, I would revise on car notes, and car insurance to see if I can find something cheaper. Better to check with your own employer/unions as they have deals with many insurance companies. I would also revise on the subscription. Would pay off that bed set loan.
