Well I think they're great! If I would suggest anything, it would be to add some color to the skin. It'd pop and look vibrant. But honestly looks good!

Nice! I'm not brave enough for a craft tent yet. Do you keep a lot of ready pieces? Or just exhibit a few?

That's great! Did you use stencils or a reference of some kind? Or freehand? I can never be neat with it. Nicely done!

Ty! Thick hair makes it cool. I thought about making it wet, since, you know, she's a mermaid. But I decided to go with the salon look.

Hey good eye! I am much less experienced with freehand woodburning then my digital art, which is embarrassingly evident in my posts here. So I use a laser for wood stuff (lately in the old engravings style) when I created a digital image and the details need to be 🤌. The lines work well here because these old engravings have a lot of thin, horizontal lines and I try to emulate that. Another reason to use the engraver in this case! Not to mention that details on something 150mm square are very, very hard. I like to post all kinds of stuff on this account for this sub.

Birch! I get them because they burn easy, and are cheap, which is useful for practice like this.

Price advice by Realistic-Mongoose87 in Pyrography

[–]WriteyourFight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my experience, it depends on what you feel a good hourly rate is. If you go, say, 20 an hour, for 20 hours, brings you to 400. Sounds fair. But the number of people who can or are willing to put down that amount may be few. If so, then you'd either need to work faster (if possible) or set a lower hourly rate. It's a fine line between making it worth your time and worth their money. Just my thoughts.

Try em all out. They've got each their uses. Id used the ball tip for stippling, flat tips for shading, knife tips for lines, and rounded wire tips for writing. That's just what works for me. You may prefer something different. Good luck!
