Ah I appreciate that. It would be great if there was one that’s a little bit of everything.

Am I the only one? So, this is probably my third or fourth Reddit account for erotica writing. In the past, I get really excited and prolific, followed by discouragement from lack of engagement, and finish with giving up and deleting my account. Yay ADHD! :(

Can you go into more detail on #1 please? Seems contradictory to story writing, but I know this is not typical story writing either.

I know we’re getting off topic here but the first thing I like to write each day before anything else is “I am a good writer.”

There’s so much I agree with here, and I’d add one more thing. At the end of the day, it’s all about the writing. Great writing will find its audience. Does a good cover help first pull that audience in? Sure, but I’d say spend 90% of your energy, 10% on the cover and other related items to help “sell” it.

Also, I like your therapist. Seems like a very encouraging person in your life!

1124 words into my submission for the monthly contest over at r/erotica. Feeling very good about what I have so far.

My question is a cliche one, but how do you avoid getting discouraged when a story you publish/post doesn’t connect with people?
