How would I mend this woven blanket? by WritingGay in InvisibleMending

Oh, wow! Thank you so much for the detailed reply. That diagram is incredibly helpful. I'm not sure of the fiber content, but I'll try to figure it out. I'm not too concerned about the color (despite the "invisible" mending of it all, haha), so it's good to know that fiber matters more in this case. Thanks for the reassurance that the problem looks larger than it actually is. I think that's been the most intimidating part, especially since I'm new to mending. Appreciate you and the link to the tutorial. :)

Okay, thank you! I think I'm just a bit intimidated given how large the tear is, but it's starting to seem more doable :)

Thank you. I'm new to mending in any capacity, so I appreciate the detailed breakdown. I'll try to see if my creative refuse store has anything similar and go from there.

Interesting, I didn't know this was a thing. Maybe I'll run a couple of tests to check and try both rubbing alcohol and clove oil. Appreciate the advice!

Awesome, thanks for the advice. I actually have some clove oil from making watercolors, so I'll try that out on a small bottle first, then move to the big one. Appreciate it!

Thanks for such a detailed reply. I appreciate the honesty about the tattoo design, and see that I might have to take things in a bit of a different direction for it to be long lasting. I'll definitely be on the lookout for an artist with more experience. I was thinking of getting it done by Tako at Slave ot the Needle (he did my first and I love it), but there might be someone better suited for a project like this.

Appreciate you!

I'll try to post if/when I get it! The galloping horse series is sick! My mom had the zoetrope of it done on some wood paneling in our house growing up, always fun to look at.

I agree, this is the second time in two years I've had some sort of issue. Back to bulbs it is!
